This is exactly why you almost always draft KPP over inside mids if they're of the same level of talent. The equivalent of Jacob Hopper as a KPF probably would command a top 5 pick at this stage.

I think he's anywhere between pick 16 and a very early second round.

Judging by history.
Adams went for pick 16
O'Rourke wen't for pick 19.
Hopper is better than both.

Mid 1st rounder.

By that logic, comparing Hopper to O'Rourke, even the worst player on your list is worth at least pick 19. O'Rourke for 19 I thought at the time was day light robbery and it can not be used for a barometer as a trade.

Don't get me wrong, I think that Hopper is worth a first rounder, but comparisons to O'Rourke are pointless.

Very true. I wasnt the one who brought him up.

He hasn't shown anymore than what Adams had done at his time at GWS, in fact Adams was better....like I said the most he's worth is around pick 16.
Disagree. But anyway.

Push comes to shove would accept 16.
But thats at the bottom end.

12 to 16 is what i would think.

Really it depends on what the club has especially given the 18 teams generally means 18 between a given club's picks. If as an example my club has 12 & 30, 12 seems more appropriate than 30

Is it just me, or why is there this perception he is leaving? I'm yet to here of any specific side linked with him which makes me think until said sides bomb on Kelly or Martin then this has a long way to play out yet. Who knows, if Kelly leaves perhaps GWS up their offer and he stays for coin and more midfield minutes...

On a side note, I'd be happy if Wrighty pulled another swifty and we ended up with him in a trade for Poppy and picks, or Breust alone.

I'd have thought if Kelly leaves, Hopper probably stays with an increased $$$ offer from GWS and more opportunity.
If Kelly stays, he probably leaves.

Devon might stay if Kelly goes, but Hopper is already considering interior decorating decisions about his new house in wherever he winds up. Gone.

Would definitely like Carlton to make all possible enquiries. Hopper still looks surefire hit to me, despite not yet having the opportunity to put it together. I'd almost rather pursue Hopper at more modest prices than Kelly at open-market rates. Won't be such a big difference in output overall when it's all said and done.

I like Hopper but his output will never get near Kelly's.

Wasn't the Marchbank deal the 4 players for pick 7? Marchbank, Lamb, Jaksch and Pickett?
Carlton also got Sumner, Plowman, Whiley, Palmer ...

But it cost a bit more than pick #7.

Looking forward to Hopper or Kelly joining our group this year.

He has been heavily linked to both Geelong and Carlton, moreso Geelong. Papers have mentioned it quiet a few times.

I believe there was some speculation that Kelly would stay due to GWS upping their offer.

Nah you've got it really mixed up those players came in 3 separate trades lol.

We traded pick 7 for jaksch, Whiley and pick 19.
so many deals, so hard to track :P
that one is not so good compared to the others.
Marchbank, Plowman & Lamb are good ones.
