If he came free with significant salary paid, i could see the Dogs having a look. Likely we won't have Libba and Treloar next year and we need experience into the side, especially through the middle.

Did alright with Carlton's GWS discard (Kennedy) so why not try with the Tigers?
He cannot move, cannot kick and his body is cooked. Bit different to Kennedy who just got Voss'd.

Half of Richmond's team appear to be cooked. I wonder how much of that is down to their S&C team. I wouldn't be willing to pay much for Hopper in the way of $$, and definitely not for picks, but if he came dirt cheap then I think we'd be crazy to pass up on it. Most games this year we have had 11-12 players with less than 50 games experience, and we average around 30-40 games less than the opposition. I'd see him as a potential stop gap between Libba retiring and someone like Sanders or Freijah being strong and competent enough to take on a full time mid role.

Maybe I'm wrong and the game is just well past him, but if it's a cap dump situation then we should be looking into it

That’s what I mean, his worth will go down because no one will pay his current $$$
Nobody will need to pay anything with Hopper as he has already been paid majority of what is owed to him already
Tigers in 2025 and 2026 would struggle to meet the min cap and would have front loaded Taranto , Hopper & Balta as they are the only contracts on more than $600k

If Hopper is traded it will be for a nothing pick and the contract is torn up with the new club and hopper signing a new contract probably on $400k-$500k which is extra money he never had. So effectively its like an out of contract signing for the new club

I can easily see the guy being delisted, once no interest from other clubs is established.

Gee I was so wanting him at Geelong when he was leaving at the Giants. I was so disappointed when he picked Richmond.
But looking at it now, im so bloody happy we didn't get him. His only just a average Midfielder.
Wouldn't even be in the top 25 Midfielders in the comp

Top 25? I'd suggest every team has at least 3 midfielders more appealing than Hopper, which wouldn't place him in the top 50 in the comp.

25??? Here are 58 mids - this is without rising stars in Lalor, FOS, Jagga, Duursma, Langford etc.

I'm sure I have missed players as well. Hooper is closer to 75 than top 25.

would be a good value pick for someone, will cost v little with upside. How he performs in a side as a bottom six of the best 23 is a completely different question to Richmond's current injury-plagued team. Plus when you're copping it so much from your own fanbase, a fresh change can do you a whole lot of good.

Game has well and truly gone past midfielders like Hopper, and Hopper has regressed significantly since crossing to the Tigers, wouldn't touch him if I was another club honestly

With that said knowing our luck he'll go to another club and somehow revitalize his career

Straight swap for Darcy Parish is his value, as Carlton try and wave Adam Cerra about to see if anyone blinks during the negotiations
