why? do you think he doesn't deserve it or do you think he won't be recognised?

He is now 6th in goals kicked. And the best performing medium forward.
Of course he deserves it fpcookie, it will come down to how many mids
they pick forward and there unhealthy obsession with the gun small
forwards. We will have a lot more all Australians than anyone would have
dared forecast pre-season in the forty man squad.

Who you think will make the squad? Dalhaus, stringer, Boyd, murphy and wood?

Sorry, should have explained. I feel like in the AA, they are less inclined to give a guernsey to a player having a break out season and prefer to go to established players even if they are having a slightly lesser season. Jake is a magnificent player and as our leading goalkicker who also runs through the middle and causes havoc he deserves a spot. But it is hard to squeeze 22 out.

Fair enough. You may well be proven right.

It is exciting to think we could have up to 4 AAs this year though.

No chance Stringer makes it

The All of team is a gimmick and complete garbage

Rioli will make it coz the over rated spud always does coz no one bothers to watch what he does other than the 6 "special" things every few games

They will pick Swan or Pendlebury in a pocket coz they always need a pies player involved

Whingard will be the token South Australian

I will be very surprised if we have more than one AA either Wood or Murph, they won't pick both

Tend to agree with MD. Maybe two in the final 22 at best.
Wood and Stringer a chance. Murphy much longer odds and then Dahl and Bont - both highly unlikely no matter how much we love them.

Having a panel of old mates and self-styled footy celebs pick them is only marginally better than the "readers' choice" GotY and MotY, but ultimately it's just as dodgy as the Rising Star winner.

Looks good on the CV and gives the club and player bragging rights, and the manager some negotiating chips next contract signing.
Means a lot but proves nothing.

Yeh MD, your rant there was pretty unfounded.

Pretty unfounded?

Look at the history of the team

Nearly always a token pies player.
Always a token SA player
Rioli makes it with far inferior stats to other players.

lol MD has blocked me and so hasn't seen my earlier post and realised he is wrong in thinking that Rioli gets in often. 'Look at the history of the team' Doggy Dan!

Doesn't make the other stuff he said incorrect though.

Mate I haven't watched enough footy this year to really give a fair assessment

Having footy myself I've probably only watched a handful of games other than the dogs

But I will have a crack but on the understanding that I haven't seen too much footy

McDonald ?????? Shaw
Wood Rance Mitchell
Gaff Kennedy Grey
Stringer Cameron Hannebery
Betts Kennedy Wingard
Goldstein Fyfe Priddis

Walker Naitanui Swan Steven

Swan and Wingard in there as token players on merit?

Done a little bit of research on this so hopefully it holds true but.....

If Jake makes the side this year he will be the youngest bulldog player since Ted Whitten in 1954 to be awarded an All-Australian Guernsey.

Ted would have been roundabouts 21 years and one month when selected. Jake will be 21 years and 4 months old.

Would be truly special for this football club.

I think stringer would need a big night tonight to have his chances but if he doesn't kick more than 4 tonight he will have to have an even bigger game against Brisbane to get in. He is six for the Coleman right now and hasn't played as many games as the other players in the running but some of the other forwards are freakishly persistent and if stringer doesn't kick big next two games he could easily be dropped down in the Coleman ladder. And to finish all Australian he needs to finish high in the Coleman ladder to gain recognition. If you look at his fantasy points he just isn't up there with the other players. I think our closest chance for an all Australian is wood he needs to do his intercept job because not many players in the afl play like he does if he starts to play like a grounded defender his uniqueness is lost and its uniqueness needed for all Australian

How Stringer fell to 5 in 2012 is beyond me, how Toumpas went at 4 in 2012 makes me seriously question how shit Melbourne are at everything. Much like Bont, I wanted Stringer. I would despise you, but managing to convince Carlton that pick 46 for Liam Jones is a fair trade, makes it hard to. Guy has certainly got a future ahead of him.

Nick Maxwell on SEN picked Stringer as FF in his AA team - ahead of Cameron, Reiwoldts, etc. opposition supporters ringing in agreeing.

Will say it again Stringer is the closest to Ablett snr I've seen.

Gun

Gun

He also left Dustin Martin out of his team, so I don't think his opinion really matters.
