In 155 games stringers only had 20 or more touches 8 times. He just doesn’t get the ball and has a career average of 13. Never mind drifting out of games he rarely gets in them.

He does kick goals and has had the odd game where he has exploded e.g. against hawks and Gold Coast this year. But in most games he does very very little.
Hawks would take him in a heart beat. Better than all your recycled recruitment in recent years. Say hi to O'Meara - your lord and saviour.

You have half a team that age or older who have done nothing. Bizarre stone to throw.

now don’t deflect back onto us

you lot sold the farm to get JOM touting him as the second coming of Christ

He’s turned out to be just a good ordinary player

Jake is better🌝

Honestly I don’t think the hawks would go near Stringer. 1 top 10 b and f finish for him. I just don’t get what people see. He has talent yes, but consistent on field performance is lacking.

What do you reckon it’s come down to dons fans? Is he fitter? Is it a different role that’s come about from Rutten that has suited him? Is it a mixture of both?

Combination of several things. Fitness plays a big part but I think the penny has dropped and he has matured as a person and a player (cue the jokes).

Going off this logic Cyril Rioli was also an average footballer I guess

Rioli found a lot more of the ball than stringer, and a lot more games over 20 touches. Plus Rioli provided double the tackle and goal assists numbers of Stringer.

Rioli’s biggest strength was his tackle pressure that was as good as anyone’s ever seen. His willingness to chase is something Stringer doesn’t have. Stringer offers very little defensively.

15 disposal average against 13 is hardly "a lot more of the ball".

Now you're moving the goalposts. 2 additional tackles per game, 0.4 goal assists. Again, hardly "a lot more"

One attends the centre square at nearly every centre bounce, then drifts forward the other played full time forward. Yet Cyril has had more than 20 touches 28 times to stringers 8.

I was only mentioning why Cyril was elite. Tackles 4.55 to 2.59 and Goal assists 0.99 to 0.59 is a huge discrepancy. It’s almost double. Especially when Stringer has spent more time around the ball.

I don't care too much for stats all I care for is that Stringer is at the Bombers and playing brilliantly !
You also have said that the hawks wouldn't go near Stringer ? and that's why your team is where it is !

This is why he is in rare air at the moment. He averages 16.4 disposals. For those disposals he averages 6.8 Score Involvements. So 41% of the time he gets the ball he is involved in a score.

And he does it a lot of of the time from the midfield, not just as a pure forward.

He’s finally injury free and our coaches have nailed the role for him.

Lazy 24 disposals, six clearances, six inside 50s, two goals and nine score involvements.

But hey, he's just playing for his next contract......
What's with the media continuallly comparing him to Dusty though? It's always 'played a good game but he's not as good as Dusty' basically. Martin arguaby the GOAT in some minds. FFS just acknowledge the good form without the subtle back handers!

so many players go side ways or look for the 15-25m pass 35% from the man on the mark

Stringer goes for the kill and has the skill to deliver i50 so cleanly

He's one of the 3 most important players running around the comp, based on form, at the moment

The reason the Dusty role gets brought up a lot by the media is because he is almost literally playing the same role Dusty plays. Caracella was a large factor in designing that role for Dusty and has shown Stringer how to play it.

Caracella deserves a lot of credit for Stringers form, and if you listen to Stringers interviews he credits Caracella also.

And at the moment for Essendon his best has been against weak teams. In 2 weeks we will see how he goes in a final against Sydney or Brisbane.
You had two choices and still failed lol
