My favourite was the texts that were leaked from Hird to football boss Danny Corcoran, where he notes that Doc Reid wanted to pull the pin on the program, and asked Corcoran to “use his UN powers of persuasion” to talk Reid out of it. When that failed they cut Reid out of the loop completely. Yep, Hird was really in the dark.

When he was coaching yes. He was given green reign and had no one guiding him or made him accountable

The funny part in all this is right in the middle of the drug case Essendon hired Neeld as an assistant coach. The level of incompetence at Essendon at that time was just next level.
