Its symbolic of the AFL that they haven't just stuck a fork in the guy publically already. He, nor anyone else involved in the Essendon scandal should be anywhere near the game. Our game is as centralised as any sport on the planet, and AFL have massive sway in what happens at every club. If they say "no", then its a "no".

An organisation seemingly obsessed with popular causes and political opinions at the veneer, will at the same time gladly wipe the slate clean for drug cheats like Hird, much the same way they have for Carey who assaulted women on more than one occasion. Once they ran an ad on women's empowerment or something like that during a game, then cut straight to Carey's face lol.

I don't think he should ever be head coach again. No problem with him, legend of the game, ok-ish coach, lover of footy and so on. He did however have a really big part to play in a situation that failed the players and supporters in a way that will forever tarnish the clubs legacy and then in my opinion, take little to no responsibility for his part in it and make a difficult situation more difficult. The personal struggles he faced have absolutely zero bearing on his ability to coach and I'm not discounting that he went through hell. This is nothing to do with me thinking he should be further punished or anything and I think he still has so much to offer and gain from the game in a coaching capacity so I'm think its great for him being involved in clubs in his current capacity. should he hold the position of head coach again? No. Never.
