So let's not have an Australia day then, I'm all for it.We don’t “need” an Australia Day for citizenship ceremonies. They happen regularly throughout the year. The vast majority of new citizens don’t become a citizen on Australia Day. I didn’t. I think it was in March or April.
As sherb said, we should be proud and grateful of being so lucky to be in this country.
But, even if we didn't have a 'day' then the angst and lament will continue from both ends, at wish. Axe grinders and racist bigots, who get all the attention coz ahole media paints it that way, then the axe grinders and bigots indulge in culture wars on social media. Aholes!
Just wish we could let those fringe dickheads have at it themselves and the rest of us could discuss compromises to elevate the indigenous.
