You could never imagine them spending 50 million on a forward who is past their best

I think they've ****ed other things up too in whatever they've experimented with today. My alerts are nuts. Getting notifications that weren't from today. Had to uninstall tapatalk as I'm getting notifications from things that have no relevance to me.

Attacking mids don't score goals regularly in the PL unless they are true number 10s like VDV or Bergkamp etc.

Imo he wouldn't be prolific here, 1 in 4-5 he'd probably go at instead of 1 in 2, if anything an Oscar or Eriksen type output would be the best he could hope for

A gun winger would be more likely to be prolific instead in England

A lot easier to be a goal a game midfielder against the likes of Karpaty Lviv and Hoverla Uzhhorod than it is against Stoke and Watford

People said the same thing about Suarez with respect to the 49 goals he scored in 48 games in his final season in the Eredivisie prior to joining Liverpool. If he'd only scored 25-30 goals then that level of scepticism would probably have been warranted, but I think there comes a point where a player is scoring goals at such a phenomenal rate, you have to give credit to them almost regardless of what league they're in.

I wouldn't have thought he'd continue scoring at a goal per game if he moved to England or Germany, but I don't think there's any reason to think a forward with Teixeira's ability would struggle making the step up to a bigger league. I highly doubt he would drop to a goal every 4-5 games though, and I'm not quite sure which alternate reality that prediction is based in?

If you want a more relevant example you need only look at the 4-5 other Shakhtar players who have moved for big money in recent years. Far from struggling, the likes of Douglas Costa, Mkhitaryan, Fernandinho and Willian have flourished in a more competitive environment, and arguably Teixeira has been more impressive than any of them during his time at Shakhtar.

After another game where we struggled to convert our chances, think we need to go hard for a proven scorer. Wouldn't mind having a crack at Remy or even Bony on loan. Just need someone who doesn't need a few sniffs to put it in the net.

Probs but wouldn't hurt to ask I guess.

Looks like we're being priced out of moves for Berahino and Townsend so I wouldn't mind having a look at potential loan deals.

"Do you know how many players in football are close to signing for many clubs? It's only one comment from some manager. Dele Ali now is here."

Think the spanish translator said it means something along the lines of "STFU Brendan you gopher looking coont"

It's just so hard these days to find a striker who can play in a 4-2-3-1, hold up the ball and still be able to score 15-20 goals a season, especially if you're not a top 6 side.

Yep very true sadly mate.

Mitro's game is really coming along, great holding up the ball and asserting himself over defenders but he's struggling to finish chances - which given our current situation isn't ideal. He's still quite young and perhaps its too much of a burden to ask a guy playing in England for the first time at a struggling club.

I think we have the potential to create chances but we're just not capitalising on them. With creative types like Perez, Gini and now Shelvey, I think we have a few who can create. We just need a bloke to finish them off.

Of course the other side is if we drop Mitro, we lose his work rate and focal point to our attack.

You can also have Benteke for 25 million... if you stay up. Otherwise he probs wont come.

You can have Benteke for 25 million if you want?
I reckon someone will bid around 15m for him in the off-season, maybe 20m.

Newcastle actually wouldn't be the worst destination for him come the off-season if they progressed and Ashley spent again in the transfer window (big ifs though).

Think he'll probably want to try another league if he leaves Liverpool though.

Agreed on Mitro, reckon he could have a real impact next season if they stick with him.

I'd actually say finding a right footed left winger who can score 10 goals a season would almost fit a bigger need for Newcastle (just someone to support Gini really).

Of course those type of players aren't easy to find either.
