I think losing Polec pretty much closes our premiership window (as small as it is right now). Makes last years mature age recruiting spree seem pretty pointless, really.

Retaining pretty much our only skilful, linebreaker should have been one of our top priorities. He's certainly a far more important cog in our premiership aspirations than Motlop, Rockliff or Watts and if he's out the door we clearly didnt value him highly enough.

About the only player we have that can hunt the ball, get through traffic and generally use it well.

Ah well, I'm sure the brains trust down at Alberton will recruit another bull so they can all play 50% TOG and all fail more often than not against decent opposition.

If we don’t get Lycett or similar it’s closed anyway. Having no quality backup has cost us more than any other list management issue combined.

We also can’t keep sacrificing quality draft picks.

I tend to agree here. Selling guernseys on gumtree isn't the only instance I know of where you could think of Jared as 'cheap.'
Money obviously a driving factor in his life. Good luck to him.

Yeah I know but whenever I hear that as a reason for extending him I cringe. We have been lucky but at the same time we were/are always going to lose someone here or there at some point. I actually think the crap defensive boring game he is getting made to play here (if he does leave) will be 33% the reason.
