I'd like to see us go full Dodoro on them and start at a straight swap for Ben Brown.
Cripps and George walk into the meeting room like this....

We’ll pretty much get what ever we want, all the big names that they’ve offered massive money to to get turned down, if Polly says yes there is no way they’ll lose him at the trade table.I'd like to see us go full Dodoro on them and start at a straight swap for Ben Brown.
Maybe they didnt take PAFC66's opinion into consideration? Rude I know.

Or rather the majority of the support base?
Yeah i think that's pretty well covered, I was just being silly.
Didn’t someone mention that Jared himself was mentioning 700 plus at the Italian night ?
I'm still pretty hopeful that he stays, sounds a bit crows supporterish to suggest losing a gun player could actually benefit us.
Why are you people arguing with someone who has 28,000 posts over 5 years, plus 100 other accounts and aliases?
You aren't going to 'win', or make any sort of progress.
This is what i'm hoping for, i think the reported $500k per year for 3 years is ample but if we needed to meet somewhere halfway i wouldn't be opposed to going as far as $600k per year for 4 years. I think he is worth that much. North have probably gone too far but there are plenty of examples of players staying at their current clubs for much lesser money, generally that is how premiership teams are built. Money is certainly not the be all and end all for a lot of players. We lost Burgoyne, got two high-ish picks, but ended up worse off.
West Coast lost Judd (a Brownlow medalist) and ended up better off.
It is what it is. If he leaves because the money is too good, so be it - we can take the pick(s) to a good draft.
If he stays for an appropriate cost it’s good too.
Really the only two bad scenarios are paying him big overs and he doesn’t deliver, or getting bent over in a trade.
HEY!!! the clubs read bigfaulkner to access the right strategies old mate so **** upThe arguments over which picks should be swapped and what players are worth is one of the strangest things about bigfooty.

West Coast was a different kettle of fish, they were on the decline and could afford to reset at the draft and really got lucky with Josh Kennedy. Those sorts of trades are rare, generally the club who is losing the player comes out slightly worse off.
At least you know what picks are in play. The arguments over which picks should be swapped and what players are worth is one of the strangest things about bigfooty.
Third one is stuffing up who you end up with from the trade ie either with the draft pick(s) you draft duds or injury prone players who don't deliver, and/or the players received in the trade dont deliver.Really the only two bad scenarios are paying him big overs and he doesn’t deliver, or getting bent over in a trade.
To be fair Adelaide have really managed to stay on task despite the constant stream of departures.I'm still pretty hopeful that he stays, sounds a bit crows supporterish to suggest losing a gun player could actually benefit us.

I love Polly as a player, his strengths are well documented, but agree we shouldn't match these ridiculous terms. North offer these ridiculous deals every other week and the only reason Polly has bitten is that 2 years ago he was sitting on the sidelines for the better part of a year wondering if he'd ever play AFL again. If we bend to this then we set the precedent for every other player manager that they can use competing clubs' salaries to inflate their contracts.
This will be the first time I ever say this but we should take a leaf out of Adelaide's book. If he elects to take the cash and consign himself to spending his prime in footballing wilderness, then we take the top 10 pick and use the money to replace him, restructure and cover the gap. If Adelaide can do it with Dangerfield, Gunston, Tippett, Davis, Lever etc. then we can too.
Apparently had a bust up with Greaves on the bench during the showdown. Came off when he wasn't supposed to and ignored the calls for him to stay on. He got mouthy with Greaves and Hammer told him to pull his head in.
He's such a strange dude, lol.
