3 years under Hinkley and Bassett and they'll be dulled down versions of what they came here as, jumping at shadows and having no faith in themselves or their team mates.

Disagree to a degree.. Houston, Howard, Farrell, Marshall, Johnson, DBJ, all young players have developed well under the current leadership. What they have troubles with is turning a player into a superstar. Wines and Wingard should all be susperstars by now, but they’re just good players. SPP is slowly joining that list
We've already had some insane young talent come through and done nothing with it.
Wines - average player who put together 3 strong weeks to push his contract $$$ up
Wingard - 2 best and fairests early on and won't get close to winning another
SPP - playing like someone whos never picked up a football, dropped
It's not gonna happen for us.
We are reliant on attracting free agents.
We do not have enough quality/capital in our list. Geelong/Hawks/Swans/WCE have this capital, the free agency came in at a nice time for them so they can keep competitive from when they were already good. Sydney have also had their academy rolling well too, to give them access without needing the high picks.
Our drafting between RGray year and Wingard was awful, and around the Wingard time GWS + GC were cleaning up.
Our draft team more recently have been swapping higher picks for more lower, to try and fatten our list.
We are getting in out of favour players as depth on cheap one year contracts. This just reflects how thin our list is.
Really Ebert/Boak/Watts/Hombsch should be in the Bs. If we are pushing for a flag, But we don't have anyone pushing them out.
Losing Polec would suck, but at least we could trade him, and bring in a first round pick, and maybe something else (even just a depth player).
As for anyone over 25 (except Dixon and Jonas) - I'd be trading them if there was some value in the trade (no lower than pick 45), as they can be a depth player otherwise.
In the end we are relying on free agency, and if Ken keeps attracting free agency players, this is bolstering our list into the future. This is why the club put him on a long term deal.

Maybe. Our inside mids aren't really killing it atm. Actually they kind of suck, are slow, bit fumbly, and some can't kick.
Bit like Wingard debate- is he more useful as a forward or a midfielder? Maybe forward if our midfield is winning, but it's not, and he is finding a spot in there.
By that logic we should trade out Gray and Ryder aswell, at 25(almost 26) he is young eno Th to be a part of a rebuild. Losing him will be tragic.

We nearly won despite being 3 down including our 2 most (structurally) important players againstvthe team in second. It’s far from dead but will be close without Polly.
We bought in Rockliff, Watts and Motlop to lose Polec the next year would be rediculous list management. Amateur stuff.

Dominated the first half, all 4 quarters matter. The entire last quarter was played in D50 turning the ball over coming out of D50, would be hard as an outside mid.
Need to keep him or we won’t be winning a flag anytime soon, far to important to lose.

If there was ever a year to trade Polec it's now. Get a first round pick in a super draft where there is plenty of SA lads at the top. Both Rozee and Rankine can play on the wing imagine the money we'd save.
Saints will look to move their pick 3 pick for more picks because after that their next is a pick in the 4th round. Could trade our 1st next year + our 1st this year and our 2nd round for their 3rd it'd still leave us with North 1st round and saints 2nd round. Add in Lycett (which by reports is very likely) as a free agent and that's a good offseason.
