As others have said above, and I agree, in terms of outside mids, Polec is in the top half dozen in the league, whereas Motlop wouldn't even register - he's a flaky half forward flank with questionable disposal.

Where is he on your votes tally? I recall him playing 2 decent games only. Polec is comfortably in our best 3 players for 2018.

Polec has checked out for the year I recon. Locker is probably empty as we speak. At least Dangerfield played like a champ until the very end before he cleaned out his locker.
Too many cartwheels when he saw the offer from North Melbourne.
So typical of recent Port that we look like the first club to actually lose a player we would like to keep to North

North’s first rounder and a sweetener would be my expectation. Not enough for a known commodity but that’s what happens when uncontracted players leave.
He will reside somewhere between Burgoyne and Jacobs on the deserter scale. I don't begrudge him for jumping at North Melbourne's ridiculous offer, but I do begrudge him leaving for money after everything we invested to bring him home and get his body right.

I won’t begrudge him leaving for the big bucks, gee, a lot on here feel like leaving our club after the dismal years we have had, but at the same time I won’t be wishing him or Norf well.

I don’t know the facts, but 3 years at 500k is what I have heard, and that should insult him. Maybe it’s the boner I have for him, but I think his value to our team isn’t fully appreciated.
I’d be more likely to direct my anger at the club if they matched the offer.
