Any mentions of Rivers knee anywhere? Looked a bit proppy when he came back on strapped up but did play the game out, will be very sore tomorrow I'd imagine regardless

Didn't look like a serious injury but he will have to be looked at during the week and might struggle to get up, given the 6 day break. I'm just guessing though so I could be wrong.

In comes Mitch Brown and Rivers can get a good rest :thumbsu:

There always seems to byes in the VFL, how many do they have a season? Frustrating to have one so early in the season. If Rivers has a sore knee perfect opportunity for Brown.

Interesting comments from Scott about not dropping a young guy this week, so seems an experienced player will be rested for Kelly.

Rivers back this week apparently. Good news. he looked very comfortable as the 3rd tall, which frees Mackie up the ground even more.
Talk of resting Ballroom, but I think we need him this week. Rest him against the Bulldogs.

HS says Rivers is an "outside chance". Usually our outside chances dont play until the following week.

ACL. Gone for 12 months.

Nah only kidding, not sure to be honest, knock to the knee, would be sore and propy but should be ok for next week.
Didn't seem to be much in the incident. Makes you wonder how sound the knee was before the game.

Not convinced he's a key position player btw.

GEELONG believes Jared Rivers has escaped serious injury to his right knee, coach Chris Scott says.

Scott said the Cats' preliminary diagnosis was Rivers had a slight medial ligament strain.
"He had an issue with the back of his knee after round one, missed a few, came back and he's got an issue with a different part of the same knee," Scott said after Saturday night's match.

"[Our doctors] say it might be a slight medial at the moment. They're not too worried about it, but they're reserving their diagnosis until they've got a bit more information."
