He calls it how it is. He also gave him the chance to call it last year but he wanted to stay on, now he hasn’t delivered. Fair play I say.

It’s also a swipe at Roughead for holding up a place and backing himself in this year when he really had been struggling. Bit of an ‘I told you so’ moment.

I think Pendlebury might have done something similar with GWS players in their early days. But yeah, it is rare and I love the fact he took the demotion as a chance to teach a young bloke from the opposition on how to improve his game.
