Shame he had to sit out his first year at the club that should been folded years ago!
Nah, they were the perfect club for him to go to .... A pathetic mob of inept idiots that drove him back into our loving arms!

Dwayne remembers Russell

His performances will be up there with anyone in our history. For him to make a case for our best ever, he'll need the accolades, both personal and premierships. Fingers crossed.
Dwayne's quote does state best AFL player.

So its really a comparison with Wazza, Gray and Wanganeen.

Its not the big "as good as Russell Ebert" call.

Ah, in that case he could probably just play at his current level for the rest of his career and be in the conversation with Tredrea and Gray.

If he realises his potential and we as a club realise our potential around him, he'll be head and shoulders above anyone but maybe Russell IMO.

Which was exactly my point.

Dwayne wasn't prepared to go all the way so to speak, given growing up he would have idolised Russell and then played alongside him.

He's everything I wanted/ thought Hammer Hartlett would be and then some.........

Fair call. His body was just never up to playing full-time midfield more than the one season. Now that he's been gone a little while I do look back fondly on him and miss Hammer.
