Havent seen a player lie and scream like that in such pain for a long long time.

The kid had really come on from my viewpoint and had become a very consistent
footballer. Hope that he can make a full recovery quickly and return to footy at the
level he has recently been showing.

But just on the TV replay, why did CH7 show the injury over and over in its
highlights? Five minutes of the poor bloke on the ground and varying camera angles
of him breaking the leg.

Couldnt they have just gone back to the studio once the initial break happened and
come back when play was about to resume? A simple explanation of how Snell had
to stretched off, and a report on the break was all we needed to see.

Thought it was in fairly poor taste. Why highlight what we all know is a serious
injury. Give the kid some respect and courtesy, dont make it a leer fest.

Good luck to Jason in his recovery.

I agree.. That was awful, poor Snelly..

I heard the dislocation came thru the skin, can anyone confirm this??

Was sitting fairly close to the incident, and the first thing that popped into my head was that he had done his knee and would be out for 12 months. It reminded me a lot of Grant Tanner going down against Essendon and Joel Smith against.... Sorry, can't remember the other team! It didn't look too good.

This might sound a bit morbid, but I was relieved when I heard it was a broken leg and ankle and not a knee. This way he can still play again this season and could be a key ingredient in our finals push later in the year.

It's a damn shame, because when he went down last season, it was when we started to fall away. He seems to be similar to Matthew Richardson, he gets some unusual injuries, that seem to put him out for 8-12 weeks.

Good luck Snelly, we know you'll be back, bigger and better than ever.

Good luck Snelly

Hope he returns bigger & better.
Well done to Garry Hocking for comforting him.

He would be one of the most sickening injuries I've ever seen.

YEAH CH 7 HAS NO IDEA AT ALL ABOUT FANS OF A TEAM, NO IDEA AT ALL!!

THEY ALWAYS MANAGE TO SHOW REPLAY AFTER REPLAY WHEN AN INJURY OCCURS AND I AGREE IT WAS DIFFICULT TO WATCH AND SHOWED LITTLE RESPECT TO HIM AND HIS FAMILY!!!

ITS THE FACT THAT 7 CANT BE STUFFED SHOWING REPLAYS OF UMPIRING MISTAKES AND BAD DECISIONS WHEN THE FAN HAS NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED, THEY DONT REPLAY GREAT GOALS AT ALL ITS ALL JUST A JOKE!!!!

I was sitting directly infront the incident and it was most certenly the worst incident i have ever seen.
To me it looked like his whole foot just turned and i felt awful seeing him get streched off the ground on that buggy (which by the way is slow and delayed the start of the play by at least 5 mins).
I hate seeing players get injured but this was one of the only times i felt deep sympathy for the player as you could see he was awfully disapointed and in horrible pain.
On behalf of all the Melbourne supporters i know, we would like to wish Snell a quick recovery and a good return later in the season!

Jeol Smiths Knee was snapped against collingwood at the g i think.

Snells was bad as well

Remember barnes a few years back against the blues at optus oval? Snapped arm, then barnsey lied there trying to put it back in.

I doubt we will see Snelly again this season. He can't put any pressure on the foot for 3 months (until mid July), then he has to get strength back into the foot. If I was him I wouldn't try to get back this year if we look like making the finals and concentrate on returning for 2002.
Look at Barry Stoneham and the problems he had after trying to return to play in finals.

It was terrible to see and they had to replay it 400 times. After the first replay I couldn't watch.

We wouldn't be much good in a war would we?

From an Eagles supporter, I'd like to wish Jason Snell a speedy recovery and hope that he's back out on the footy field in the near future!

My respect for Hocking increased a lot after Mondays game. Geelong are lucky to have such a leader in their side.

Haven't seen the incident over here but sounds pretty bloody grisly.

Hope the guys comes back strong and healthy and great call Grendel to wish the kid well.

Somethings are more important than the game.

Cheers
