Injury Jason Weber - Gorn

Not convinced he's going to Melbourne. We would have more cash to spend, surely we'd offer a more lucrative package? He and Ross obviously work well together stemming from their days at the Sydney Swans.

The hard work and dedication required to play AFL football continues for the Fremantle Dockers, despite the playing squad currently being on annual leave.

Fremantle Sports Science manager Jason Weber said all players were tested for anthropometrics (lean muscle mass and fat) and a variety of athletic parameters in the week after the club’s last game in round 24.

I'd say not

Also this:
Weber added that Anthony Morabito, who missed 2011 with a knee injury, was tracking along nicely to join his teammates for pre-season training in November.

“Anthony is nearing the end of his baseline strength program,” he said.

“Notably, he has surpassed all his performance data from the 2010 pre-season.

“After a short break he will commence a re-conditioning phase which will include more advanced coordination work with respect to his knee.”

Maybe Harvs told Weber to train the players a certain way (i.e. Harvey's instruction to Weber: Players must be able to run long distances, don't care about muscle building.) So Weber's followed those instructions. Is Weber to blame for doing as he's told by his boss? Maybe they're keeping Weber on at the club but will take a completely different approach to strength and conditioning training this year? [shrugs]

jack anthony said at the start of the season that he has never trained so hard in his life, that freo trained much much harder than the pies. that tells me it was over training rather than under training

side note, i will not mention this players name, i will however say that he plays as a forwardline player for us. and he said on harvey's sacking when i asked him what he thought "am happy, this decision had been coming all year, looking forward to working with an a-grade coach"..... interesting, wouldnt give any specifics though

heard the same thing from player down your way, not sure if its the same one..

This is exactly why I avoided posting in this thread before it was confirmed;) Anyway, I obviously don't know the intricacies of an AFL club, but surely our injury list can't be totally blamed on Harvey?

I mean could he have forced Weber to train the players harder than was necessary? Despite the obvious protests that Weber must have given that it could potentially cripple the list?

I assume that this is so considering that Weber is staying and Harvs is gorn.

So does a head coach have that absolute power?

They need to roll the HR girl too - "The Fremantle Dockers is looking"

HR people are the dumbest ****s on the planet.

Seriously, who gets into HR?

Why? Because they can't do anything productive in their lives, so they spend the rest of their working lives pissing off anyone in their own organisation that actually does work, in order to cover up for their own lack of real worth?

HR workers and bean counters - the biggest drawdown on productivity since rice met magpie geese.

If anyone here is involved in HR, you've got to be one of the weakest ***** going.

Beat me to it.

Mora's beating his 2010 pre-season results. :thumbsu:

Not really surprising. For six months you can't really do anything but aerobic activity. I've worked pretty hard and at 10 months I've put up my best 400 and 800 times in about 6 or 7 years. Sprints are laughably bad, especially on the pushsickle.

Good to see I'm matching my knee brother though. Still got one up on the looks department in the same way he's got me in the footy department.
