Most seem to be just having a laugh, while others just take themselves too seriously I think.Wow amazing thread...
Why the hate between us and the Saints? I haven't been around BF too long so haven't been exposed to this. I thought we got along alright? The Carlisle trade last year had a bit of a stand off but I think it was a win / win in the end. Carlisle a solid player and Gresham looks excellent so Saints should be happy. Francis seems like he could be anything if he develops as expected so we should be happy.
We should be joining forces to rid the top 4 of the Hawthorn's, Sydney's and Geelong's of the world. They have had it too good for too long, time for our clubs to rise!
Laverde interesting, I think Essendon would be very keen to keep him but as with every player you want them as cheap as you can get them. Personally I think Langford is very similar so we wouldn't want to pay overs for a player we already have one of. We obviously still want him though, could be a great player.
Do the Saints have a player similar to Laverde? Mid size forward that can go into the middle? If not then they are probably in a position to pay a little more. It doesn't mean they are paying "overs", it just means they have a greater need for that type of player so they value him higher.
My feeling is that Connors is trying to get more money and Laverde will stay if he gets it. If he does choose Saints I think we would be well compensated. I think pick 10 is too much for Laverde at this stage and the Saints don't have a second rounder so they will have to weave some magic to get something around the late teens I would think.
yep - I think it's mostly a mutual pisstake
Half what the saints are.What are the dons rumored to be offering him?
3 years at 200k a year?Half what the saints are.
I have it on good authority (solid ITK with a good history) that Laverde will weigh up all options in front of him had choose the one he finds most appealing.
He should ask BJ if he should stay at Essendon or go to StKilda to win a flag.
BJ (Without any sense of irony) responds: I DEMANDS THAT YOU STAY A ONE CLUB PLAYER!
goes without sayingWhile pointing at him.
bahahahahahahahahajust now on Roar;
One piece of news that’s been flying under the radar a bit is that Jayden Laverde is looking likely to request a trade to St Kilda after just two years at Essendon.
