Interesting to see him move up in the midfield a bit. Brought back memories of his 2007 season, when he was in career best form.
Would love to know what &age of the game he spent on ball. I got the impression that he went there for centre bounces a bit but didn't necessarily "follow".

Re-watched the Saints game this arvo, and it's really hard to kind of tell where Adcock is playing. He gets a lot of ball between the arcs, but he doesn't really every play as a genuine midfielder. I think it's just the way he reads the game, he is really good at attacking pushes into the middle, being that extra linking player and getting the ball going forward, as well as helping to chop it off coming back. Likes to get right up near the forward 50 for a shot or 2 on goal as well. Great to see him back in some good form.

Adock has been in career-best form this season, averaging 110 points per match, which is up by 43 on his 2010 average – the sixth-biggest jump by any player in the league. His form at the Gabba has been solid this season averaging 99 points per game.

Wayne Schwass

Firstly, it's easier to play well when a team is playing well, so GWS should be looking to identify players who have shown they can perform well in poor teams.

Secondly, when things go wrong these types of players aren't distracted or put off by the result. They know no other way and have the strength of mind and determination to push on.

Carefully selecting the most appropriate type of uncontracted players would allow GWS to concentrate on helping develop the younger players knowing their senior players are mature enough and resilient enough to stay the course irrespective of the result.

With this in mind GWS should be targeting the following players for the positions of captain, vice captain and deputy vice captain: Jed Adcock, Beau Waters and Jack Trengove.

Lion Jed Adcock should be the Giants' inaugural captain, says Wayne Schwass

Wow, apparently every Brisbane player is being targeted by GWS. In all seriousness though, i doubt Jed would leave.

Much like Lethal's Black article this article is more a compliment to how impressive Adcock is than anything else.

Round 8 vs Essendon

Jed Adcock worked his butt off, and was still revving up his teammates 25 minutes into the last term, but it is going to be a long, long year for him and the Lions.

Who's hot

Jed Adcock - The Brisbane vice-captain has managed to remain injury-free so far this season and he's reaping the benefits. The 25-year-old has been among the Lions' best in just about every match in 2011. Against the Bombers last Saturday night Adcock collected 24 disposals and five marks.

had a shocker against the swans. thankfully he does not string 2 of these together. Just when i thought the back six were looking settled, they have a howler.
maybe the midfield could help out by wining the ball for once?

Brett Burton injury update

Jed is having surgery on his finger on Wednesday. He’s had a finger fracture for a while that we were hoping when splinted would re-unite, but it’s actually getting further displaced so he’ll have the screw put in his finger on Wednesday and we’ll know more then about time frames.

Terrible news, has been really important for us this year. I wonder how long he's been carrying this for?

He's been a bit down the last two weeks, could be an explanation.

Adcock goes in for surgery on a broken finger today, and while his time out is yet to be determined, his absence adds to a list of senior players that have missed extended parts of the season.

Brisbane vs Richmond preview

Adcock has probably been the Lions' most consistent performer this season, having averaged 21 possessions, but he's been down the last few weeks as a result of a broken finger that just hasn't quite knitted. As a result he has had surgery on the finger on Wednesday and could be three or four weeks away.

Terrible news, he's been in a rich vein of form and he's one of my favourite non Carlton players. I've been to a few family days because the girlfriend barracks for the Lions and he's always been really approachable and I've had a couple of chats with him.

On the bright side it's helped my 'Most Team Votes' for Black which I got at $8.00 and he has since shortened to $4.00. I might have to hit that as well considering this set back to Adcock.

Bad luck guys, hope he's back soon and Black plays a few blinders. :thumbsu:

He’s been playing with a bit of duress for a few weeks now with a finger injury. It’s broken (and) it’s been a little bit more discomforting for him over the journey the last couple of weeks. (He’s been) unable to train. We just thought after last weekend’s game it was probably best now to get some surgery otherwise potentially a finger injury of that accord doesn’t help him in the future.

Not sure if there was anything definitive before but just heard on Foxsports that it's not as bad as first thought and is likely to miss 3 games.
