Now Lucas has said the force is genetics and not magic, how long would it take for the borg to create borg jedi? I mean Darth Vadar was half way there, just needed a wifi card :).

Would the Borg Collective become unstoppable by assimilating midichlorians?

Or would there lack of individual personality hinder the Borg capitalising on Jedi powers?

The Jedi would win. And I am a Trekkie.

While the Borg can adapt to phaser fire, I doubt if they can adapt to a light saber. Besides, even if a light saber fails, the Jedi can force choke a Borg drone with ease, without even touching it.

Drones can heal and regenerate. Would they not be able to adapt to lightsabers?

Jedi's can out-manouvre Borg with ease. No question.

It comes down to numbers really. Could each Jedi kill a kagillion Borg? No, so the Borg queen wins.

Plus, Jedi are fictional.

Yeah but are we talking pre-Empire Jedi?

If so they had the republic forces at their disposal and before you say "but it only said Jedi", battle meditation was a specific Jedi ability.

Jedi dun gun woop their ass. Power of premonition, prophecy, lightsabers, chokin n shit, plus the ability to psychically coordinate and manage entire armies, much like the way the Borg connected? Sheeeeet son no contest.

I am pretty sure that we all agreed that we were talking the Jedi of episode 4 vs the Borg of the episode prior to Janeway returning Voyager home and destroying their Borg's transwarp hub.

Kazillion borg vs Obiwan and Yoda.

Borg queen wins again.

No way bro, I see no such consensus.

If we are able to nominate arbitrary time periods though, how about the old republic?

Armies of Jedi, duel wielding and shit, GG bro.

Regardless, Yoda, Obi Wan, Luke etc. would win via cunning and stealth, no need for conventional warfare.

I don't know why you are arguing the point, we all know resistance is futile.

The Borg would not be distracted by women in their quest for victory. They do not fall in love with their sisters either.

And in war the side that is least distracted by incestuous thoughts always wins.

I'm with you DM. Even if it was empire you think the Empire would stand by and let the Borg take over. Star Wars firepower tops Trek firepower any day. Like to see a sphere or cube up against the Imperial Fleet backed up by a Death Star.

Especially one without all the stupid design flaws.

An SSD would blast a Borg Cube into oblivion before it could use any of its ghey arse regenerative powers or "adapt" to the turbolaser fire.

Exar Kun was able to make suns go nova with ancient Sith relics. If it's in the ancient era, there were many immensely powerful Jedi/Sith. Even Palatine (the reborn version) could possibly destroy an entire Borg fleet with his Eclipse and Force Storm. The Borg are also incredibly stupid, often moving into a straight line, showing nothing of tactics or strategy... their ships are mince meat against ships with firepower orders of magnitude more powerful than any Federation ship. Think of that Species 8472 the Borg met in Voyager - their ships cut through cubes like butter. No kind of "adaptation" can repel such vicious power.

The Jedi will easily be able to outsmart them in conventional warfare.

Can not happen as the Borg have already gone back in time and assimilated all the ancestors of the Jedi. Game over, no time travelling Jedi to stop them. Borg victory!

All it would do is create an alternate timeline, or make things even worse.

The Borg and species 8472 are fictional.
Jedi are not....
The Australia Bureau of Statistics claim there are 70,509 practicing Jedi Knights in Australia alone.

There are no Borg, apart from Victor.:D

Case for the Borg.

Assimilated Borg Death Star is game over, and the Borg are experts at stealing intelligence and converting it to their own needs. Also, a Death Star with a trans-warp drive. That's dramatically improved travelling speed. The Borg typically would build thousands.

And what happens when they inevitably assimilate a Jedi. As I mentioned earlier if they can replicate midichlorians then every single Borg becomes a Jedi or has Jedi like abilities which will significantly level the playing field, perhaps give the borg an advantage.

The Borg's seemingly endless numbers. Kill 100 Borg, 200 Borg replace.

Case For the Jedi.

Individual free thinking. Absolute advantage over drones.

Mind-power abilities. Use of the Force

Superior individual combat abilities.

Resources of the Old Republic/New Republic at their disposal.

King the Borg-Queen, Borg will flounder for a while making them very vulnerable.
