Contact on Chad Cornes's head was deemed accidental and thus Jeff is available to play this weekend, that is if he gets selected

thats some good news. Jeff is one of our best players, his defensive pressure in the forward 50 and his foot skills are greatly needed. I love his little stints in the midfield, he always seems to hit his targets.

that may be so Reveler but as far as I'm concerned his season has been very very dissapointing and shouldn't be at the club next year as a player

he deserves another year. Still contributes week in week out and is one of our more consistant players.

wow thats a first.. i was sure he was going to get a few weeks even though there was nothing in it.
i'd expect a big game from jeff this week

Luckily it was a Cornes boy therefore head high contact is guaranteed not to be dangerous to the brain ...if he had kicked him in the arse he would have gone for 2 weeks.

I'd be keeping Farmer ...if we are going to take the hatchett/trade to a number of players - you really couldn't cull much more than 5 or 6.

At the moment a few questions would be asked about..... Belly would be questionable (his call), M Carr is gone, Warnock (don't look good), Browne, Duffield (perhaps delists)...and add a ? Webster (depends on medical outcomes). * All just guesswork but any of these would not be the greatest shock ever.

That is 6 already and then include perhaps Rookie/Vets changes of Dunn and McManus.

I don't think you can put the broom through much more than that. Also you don't always get a Palmer and Mayne who can step into senior footy ...we would want to keep Farmer and for insurance a Mark Johnson type (or a Duffield if that floats your boat). You can not decimate your list with the draft system we have.

Agreed Moo.

Who we delist/trade and who we keep depends on who we already have to replace them.

You can delist Macca, trade Schammer etc becoz there are guys who can replace them and in all likelihood perform better.

We don't have anyone to replace Farmer just like we have no one to replace a KPB like Grover or McPharlin. We need all the genuine crumbers we can get.

If he can contribute like he did on the weekend, Farmer should easily get another 1 year contract.

There will be at least 6 who depart end of the year, maybe 8. Pretty much all of them would be looked at before Farmer. Due to the necessity of keeping a few older heads around the place, Jeff should be safe.

Can not believe the late head high hit from P. Burgoyne was not investigated.

That's "square up in the carpark" kind of crap. Very poor from the AFL.

Thank god!

Did anyone else see on the tape Burgoyne hit Palmer late in the first quarter?

It was a late bump that seemed to hit him in the head, Palmer appeared to stay down afterwards. I missed it at the game but picked it up when I re-watched the game.

Did anyone else notice Port players targeting Palmer after he got rid of the ball? It seemed pretty premeditated.

Yeah I saw it at the game, not on replay. As per my post above.

Looked really bad to me. Am very disappointed that it wasn't looked at.

Soli at quarter time was the only one that tried to square burgoyne up. Not happy with that.

Sorry, totally missed it.

Yeah, if you watch it on replay, Burgoyne has no other intent besides hurting Palmer, he isn't even watching the ball and hits him in the head.

Not on!
