He was an athletic ruckman who used to jump over his opponents. He doesn't have the jump any more.

I don't know. I mean, he'd come cheap... but that doesn't mean he'd actually bring anything we want.

Carlton only need to nurture Kruezer for a season or 2 then let him at them, I think White would be ok...Wouldn't like to give up much to get him, but meh, worse around!

Lade is also stronger, taller and a more wily vet than White. Would be a better teacher. White these days is just an undersized ruckman. He'll get slaughtered like... well... like our ruckmen do.

We need to know how comitted White is physically and mentally. If he ticks both boxes and we can get him for next to nothing, I definitely think the club should look at him as an 18 to 24 month band-aid solution while Hampson and Kreuzer continue their development.

100% we should have got King, if lade is a chance we should do all we can to get him, as has been pionted out on other threads he could be a good ruck coach at our club not just a player and mentor.

Throw Sam Jacobs into that list as well, he is starting to take some big steps forward with the ants at the moment imo.

I think we need a stop gap...especially as a Ackland is going. I hope Jacobs get promoted...and maybe recruit another ruckman on the rookie list. But we need a guy ready to compete - like Cloke - in case of injury. If Cloke and one of the other kids get injured next year, we'll be screwed!!!!

The Ackland experiement didnt hurt us, no harm in trying again. I would prefer Lade and Brogan over White, but he is better than our current options. Hampson as back-up ruchman, Kreuzer forward and Cloke as a depth player.

I'd much rather we have a real crack at Brendan Lade if he becomes available. His work with Shaun Burgoyne against the Filth was nothing short of sensational.

Word is that PA may only offer a 1 year deal or maybe none at all. If he was available we should make a beeline to his door with a 2 year offer. Could you imagine what he could teach the Big K and the Hampster. Also, how good would Juddy, Stevo, Murphy and Gibbs be with a bloke like Lade sticking it down their throats for most of the Game.
