Hardly a surprise. IIRC Damir draped a union jack over himself when he got ****ed at a grand slam tournament a couple of years ago.Originally posted by meg

Whats the reason for the change this time? Did Yugoslavia **** Damir off?

Apparently they want to build a mansion and build a tennis centre, and Damir said they wont allow it there, so they are moving to England because he believes its the only place she can develop her tennis properly.
I think the real reason is the England has no stars, so she has to be the spotlight![]()

Damn, ya beat be to it.
From what i know, there are no decent English women tennis players coming up, and Henman and Rusedski are the only decent mens players. I spose the English tennis officials would be chuffed at getting a decent womens player to play for their country, but imagine the press over there: full page spreads, front page news with big head lines and more. I am not sure whether the Dokic family can cope with the attention, we all know how the English media are like with their liking for sensationalism...

Your point is not really coming through to me - do you want to explain?
If Jelena is allowed into the UK (more difficult to get past red-tape in the UK than if you are sport's star arriving in Oz) - who would Australia's best female player be?

er, he was talking about Britain not having *tennis stars* was he not?
Damir will then steal some bread, and they will be shipped off to Australia![]()
Maybe we can arrange a swap for Damir and Jelena for those 2 English who have been in Oz for over 40yrs but refuse to take up citizenship. That was on Today Tonight, ACA, the news and the papers. I take it ppl know what i am going on about?Originally posted by NYPomme
