One role that I think Darcy would be great at is the Matthew Richardson wingman role.Unless Moore's contested marking improves to Cloke levels then I'd wager he's just as susceptible to a "can not compete" in 2v1s as any of the smalls. As for leading into space I'd agree that most KPD in the league would struggle to keep up but in that scenario he'd still only be marginally better than any of DeGoey, Elliot, Stephenson or even Treloar as they are used in the current setup.
If we then reverse the scenario and ask what happens when the opposition try to isolate one of their forwards, who plays on them? I'd much rather Moore than any of the other KPD options on the list.
Regardless, the current setup works fine when the ball is moved quickly and they manage to isolate a forward(granted poor execution as on the weekend) but they struggle when they are held up and the opposition gets numbers back. Other teams have cottoned onto the kick it to Cox mantra and are structuring up accordingly, just as West Coast and Geelong have in the previous two premiership games. Moore forward would help but leaves a hole in defense. Thinking about it I reckon a solution that would better suit the current game plan would be to have Howe push deep forward in such situations. With Moore and Langdon back he's intercept marking is not needed as much and he could afford to play looser, sneaking into the forward line, as far away from Cox as possible, and provide that alternative aerial option. This would be much harder for opposition teams to defend than a second KPF that has a defender assigned to them from the bounce.
