I honestly don't think he will be the Mega forward he has been hyped to become, i think he has hit near his ceiling as a forward.

Im hoping we don't trade our future and premium cap space for him, I think with the timing of Neale's signature is the nail in the coffin on talk at Fremantle recruiting Hogan.
I don't think he's hit his ceiling, but his development's getting stifled a lot by being in such a poor team.

If you think the delivery our forwards get is bad, Melbourne's is on a whole other level

After reading the great q and a with tim, we can assume what ever we like. But hogan and his manager are the only ones that know how this is gonna play out.

Yep,sadly I reckon the asking price is going to be too high in order to prise JH away from Melbourne whilst still under contract IMO.

Concentrate on getting CM and bomb our current midfield with even more talent!

What the Demons have that we don't have is a forward structure that works, a Ruck that is not just a tap ruckman but a presence around the ground too and a run and carry game that counters a poor delivery. I put him in the same category as Daniher and J.Cameron good one out with space.

He might get a bad kick whilst he is on the lead, but it beats the sky high ball that we rush inside 50 after we have flooded our forward half. There is no difference in their forward line setup to a team like the Bulldogs, their run and carry style helps the forwards look better than they are.

He is a good set shot, solid one on one in a marking contest, but it won't amount to 60+ goals a season with us or the Demons until the Demons win alot more ball and get the ball in more forward , or in our case junk our structures and flooding in the forward halve, run and carry and make the final kick into the forward line from 50-65m out and not from 70+ metres. He wont out mark everyone in a pack scenario, hell we cant even have the tallest player in the comp outmark and out muscle everybody.

Caroline Wilson on Footy Classified tonight mentioned that Melbourne Football Club contract negotiations with JH are not going as well as they would like, I'm paraphrasing, but, she said they are getting frustrated in that they get one story from him then he comes home for a visit and they then get another story.

Maybe he is wavering and is getting a bit homesick. I'd imagine our best chance is if he hasn't signed by next year we can hopefully offer up next year and the year after's 1st round picks plus a player or something like that.

If fyfe stay i dont think we need hogan, then again if he want to come back, i wont allow eagle to get him.

We could not afford to have hogue and Fyfe on the same team? We are not Sydney
Ummm... Yes we can. As stated... Kurt tippet is being paid daniel bradshaws money..

As for freo... you know how freo can fit BOTH fyfe and hogan at 1 million each a year? well pav is gone so that frees up money.

and look who might retire for freo next season? Sandi, mundy, johnson and dawson.

It'll be wrapped up this trade period I think. You have good currency now and I'd be disappointed if we let Hogan dictate terms to us for another year. I think he either signs an extension or is traded west.

I'm on the complete opposite view, no way would he sign an extension this year and I'd say no chance he'll ask for a trade this year too. Hogan will do what anyone would do, sign later next season or wait it out and leave at the end of next season.

Yep this - Odds on, Hogan will extend with Melbourne next year, like most players in that kind of situation. If he does extend this year that is a significant win for Melbourne.

The only way Melbourne give him up now, is if his back is troubling him again. Seems to have gone quiet the last month. Otherwise they'll back themselves to change his mind in the next 12 months.
