Apparently his name has been throw around today.

If true and if JA really wanted to leave the Pies for more opportunity, this would be my preferred option.

Thoughts?

Well I'd gladly take that trade. White's heaps better than Anthony.

Will Sydney be dumb enough to take it? Probably not. But then again Paul Roos and his trade week genius isn't there anymore.

I rate White but he'd have the same problem as Anthony. We can't carry 3 talls unless the 3rd is a Leigh Brown style swingman who can handle rucking.

A straight swap would be ideal, but it may need a bit more.

He would essentially play the same role. I agree that we can't carry Dawes, Cloke, L.Brown and White in the same 22, but I wonder if L Brown can go back if N Brown or Reid get injured? Might not need to go after Tarrant.

Which is exactly what White can do

If the Leroy rumors are true: Jesse White, Mitch Clark are good options, both serviceable rucks (match very good) both good KP forwards.

Collingwood will not be able to get Mitch Clark, will demand a high pick and a player.

Don't rate White at all.

Can leap and take a good mark but strikes me as a lazy footballer. A change of attitude would be required for him to make the grade.

Straight swap for Anthony or GTFO..

What Opti said. If we really were to lose Brown to retirement White would be a great alternative. He'd be more affordable than Clark and at a team we've been known to deal with in the past. I would definitely consider him.

Except Anthony is not a true tall and cannot play ruck. Anthony is a prototype 3rd tall and that's it. White has the ability to play as a genuine KPP and in the ruck. If it's for Anthony it's a pretty good deal. He is a significant upgrade.

Seriously average player. In what way is he an upgrade on Anthony?

Rocks in the head stuff.

I'm a bit perplexed why all of a sudden we are super down on Anthony. Only a year ago he was a 50 goal player and sure, this year he stagnated and was overtaken by our depth on the list. But that's only one year, surely he has more in the tank for the B&W in some sort of role, why are we desperate to be rid of him for arguably more questionable players?

His attitude would be 1000x better than Anthony's!!

i rate him. not sure if sydney would be prepared to part ways with him though, still being fairly young and holding his own as a KP forward. anthony for him definite win but i have my doubts....

I agree. Having relocated to Sydney for work I have seen a bit of the swans.

He has potential but he does come across as being a bit lazy.

That being said strait swap for him I'd nearly take. I don't see Jack Attack breaking into our side.

Don't think he's on the radar, that said, I think he's no genuine forward but a very good mobile ruck.

For those saying he has good hands, I'd say that's his biggest weakness. He has hard hands and needs a lot more practice at being a one grab player. Big unit, good tank, beautiful kick, fantastic at creating a contest but he has to improve his marking and footy smarts. If I had a say I'd say he is untouchable so I'd hate to see him go. He was disappointing this year but 2011 should be his breakout year because around the 50 game mark is when key forwards start to show proper potential.

Why would you need him though? He is a very average ruckman as well so he isn't the versatile player he is made out to be. Brown is a pretty unique player to replace.
