Better than going in hard and doing something stupid when there is no need.

JLT are about fitness, working on small things, getting a bit of touch, giving young/fringe players a go, and not getting injured.

Given we had a later start to the preseason, were rumoured to rock up to preseason a little unfit, and have had two poor second halves I think there is enough to be concerned about our fitness.

As for Port, they will likely be their own worst enemy if the play that short style of footy in the back half (a copy of Geelong last year). If Hinkley didn’t learn from this game that port are at their best playing fast, then Port stuffed up giving him such a big extension.

We lacked speed . Our forward line is a real concern and pressure forward of centre is key

Tredders called it we leaked goals against freo and Port and didn’t have anyone move the ball from D by foot

Both sides can take a fair bit out of that hit out I think.

But a bit of perspective here - compare the respective TOG% of both sides. - Port went harder for that one.

We had three players play 85%. Port had 7 and most of their bigger names at that too.

Crouch/Sloane/Gibbs played sub 70% TOG while we preferred to get more minutes into secondary midfielders like Douglas/Hampton/CEY/Atkins/Gibson.

Yes...your right....but I must confess ...I'm getting concerned Dermie might be right....the Crows forwards really do only play well when the game is on THEiR term

Out of all the players of you to think are good and bad, I’m surprised you put Gibson in the good basket.

He’s mediocre, nothing player that wins the hard ball and hacks it forward. A depth player in a top 4 quality side, nothing more and he showed exactly that today.
