But he sometimes gets onto the "so open minded your brain falls out" track.

He puts out on average 10-12 hours of unedited content a week, he gets on my nerves sometimes too, if that happens I just turn it off and try again with another guest, I don't whinge and call for his head because he's convincing grown adults to kill themselves via misinformation.

Why not? Why allow platforming of anti-vax, ivermectin nutbars? It does nobody any good. All of his lies are available online, why spread them? It's a massive lapse of judgement.

So you don’t think that ten years ago he should have known not to say it so flippantly on a podcast? I believe the whole cancel culture goes too far sometimes and I don’t think he should be but you can’t seriously tell
me he wouldn’t have known saying that might get him into trouble.
 
Usual course of action is that when you can't beat them in a discussion you try and beat them by having others not listen to them - going after the person for any reason.

As an example.
The big one will be when Martin Luther King Jr's words about content of character over colour of skin become inconvenient and people suddenly "remember" he has a history of orgies and sexual assualt denial.

Should they be still allowed a voice? People went out because they were told it stopped transmission and infection and some of them probably died.

I'm willing to forgive Rogan if this is all the attack pack could find after trolling through thousands of hours of footage from a fella who routinely gets stoned and/or drunk on his podcast, I'd back Rogan's character and confidently say he is not a racist over many who want him cancelled.

I don’t think he’s racist but surely you yourself know not to say the word on social media/radio/tv/in a public forum where it’s going to be recorded and be accessible for others in the future.

It’s not acceptable at any point but if he’s in the confines of his house with mates and no one else is going to hear it, then we wouldn’t be having this discussion. I just think he needed to have awareness, even 30-40 years ago, people did about not using that word.

They also found him being pro-vaccine initially as someone posted earlier but has done an about face since. Could it be he’s grifting off those who are anti-establishment/pro-conspiracy etc?
 
Rogan fans have to realise that he is mainstream media now, and that means he is finally being held to those standards. I think that's all that's happening here.

It's too bad that Joe is a meathead, because most people can appreciate the format of listening to people and hearing them out, which is somewhat rare on TV. Unfortunately Joe still exercises plenty of bias when it comes to selecting guests and topics to speak about, as well as his views on issues like vaccines, trans people. This is particularly a problem as many of his fans still think he is 'open-minded'.

His commentary is repetitive and uninformed and opinionated in the absence of actual experts, and you have to be more responsible than that when lives are at stake, and also just when misinformation is such a problem in our society. Sometimes he'll have an expert on like Dr Deborah Soh, but she comes with her political baggage, so again he is misleading his audience about the validity of the discourse on his show.

A good new rule for him would be not to have his usual strong uninformed opinions without an unbiased,non political expert present. So if you want to talk about vaccines or Ivermectin, get Dr Osterholm on again, or get Dr John Campbell on. I've been following him for COVID news.

There's plenty of actual unbiased shows out there.

Not exactly an expert on virology. Seems a classic case of attaching more credibility to someone than they deserve because you like what they are saying.

Free speech is ok so long as the mob like what you're saying. If they don't like it then you must be canceled asap
 
Oh rubbish.

1) He can post it on a blog or email it to a subscriber list. Whatever. It's not censorship. If Rogan refused to have me on his show would that be censorship? You? David Duke?

2) "Speech you disagree with" would mean it's something debatable. Malone tells lies. Rogan let him do that without resistance. The results of those lies being broadcast are not trivial.

3) It would be of debatable value if Rogan had the skills and knowledge to refute Malone's lies on the spot. He doesn't.
