Out of all the acts of hilarity/stupidity from football players of all codes, this one is by far the stupidest. This guy must be like, the uber-fev to do something like this.

Tugga - have to laugh at your siggy considering a few days later you lose 4-2 to Bolton :p:p
Yeah but our eyes on a bigger prize than EPL at present.
Monoghan seem contrite and certainly does realise the stupidity of his actions. Deserves to be punished hard though.

People talk about punishing the guy, like the knowledge that your mum knows you were gobbed off by an actual dog isn't punishment enough. He has a lifetime of punishment ahead of him.

This is the most embarrassing situation I think I've seen... for anybody. Ever.

Surely they should be able to find which players were in attendance so they can find whop took the photo and published it. Disgraceful. What happens on Mad Monday should stay on Mad Monday. Then again, its a dog eat man world.

What I find strange is that his act has been deemed so horrendous (and rightly so) that he cannot get a job in the NRL because of it.
So what makes people think any Super League clubs would offer him a job? Surely his actions are so grotesque that no club would want him no matter where they sit on the globe?

felt real sorry for him in his press conference. He made a really bad mistake and has paid for it. I think he deserves a second chance in the NRL in the future, like everyone does.

I'm pretty sure a ESL club will pick him up, they aren't usually fussy. But if he thinks he is escaping the abuse he is wrong, he will possibly get worse at some SL grounds given the atmosphere the likes of headingly can generate

Don't feel sorry for him, deserves everything he gets.

Should be banned for life, but you watch the NRL let him back in in a couple of years-bookmark it.

Frankly he's lucky any law change in the ACT can't be retrospective otherwise he'd be in jail. When you consider that, losing his career, which is his own fault anyway, isn't much of a price to pay. He's still got off very lightly and no one should feel sorry for him.

I felt sorry for him in the sense that he was very genuine in his remorse and what he'd done to himself, his family and the code.

A life time ban is rediculous. If Andrew Krakouer can revive his AFL career after spending time in jail, then Monaghan has every right to return to the NRL or Rugby league at a later date.

That said, I'm still waiting on some form of ban from the game. He's clearly brought it into disrepute and deserves some form of suspension.

Why is that rugby league players go the wierd route. Taking a dump in a hotel, getting a flog from a dog?

And RL fans complain about the poor treatment in the media. Its these unusual acts that tend to attract interest.

Much more has been said in the Melb media about the Monaghan case than the whole Brett Stewart sex assualt trial which was basicially ignored like the Lovett rape case in the Sydney media.

It's the culture. Bizarre.
If you need evidence then go over to League Unlimited and see how they're defending it.
