Joel Smith

It certainly hasn't eminated just from Mark Robinson. The actual details are rumoured only. When Mark Robinson was on radio (with Dermot), the only thing that was said was that Smith would decide tonight on the offer made by the Pies. The rest is speculation. If he jumps at the offer, he may go into the PSD. 7 is still ours at the moment. Lie everyone else though, I'll be mightily pi$$ed if we swap it for a 28yo HBF.

"Only the Best" FFS

For Heavens sake leave O'Bee alone he is due for a Big 2005, Mark McGough played well in the games he played this year and as for Ryan Lonie he is a star in the making.

O'Bree's an absolute *******.

Anyway the latest is Adam White on Sport's 927 reckon's it's Smith and Pick 10 to Collingwood for our picks 7 & 23.
So much for us hanging onto pick 7.

hang on people has joel smith said he wants to come to collingwood i think we could be jumping the gun here so if we give our pick 7 and the hawks give there pick 10 we are just 3 places down from were we will be with pick 7

Article on RealFooty suggest we have offered pick 23 for Smith. I can live with that. May happen with the threat of the PSD hanging over their head. Although considering Jolly went for 15 it seems a steal.

If we trade pick 7 for Joel Smith, the Collingwood Football Club will not receive one cent from me for membership, merchandise or anything else, until Neil Balme is sacked.

Yeah thats right you fair weather pr1ck. When things are ok your a magpie but when its not....." Im keeping my money, I wont be a member". Collingwood dont need you so p1ss off and barrack for hawthorn or richmond or someone else p1ss weak like that.

Surely with the reported lack of depth in this years draft the difference between pick 7 and 10 couldn't be much. And what's to say that pick 7 will end up better than pick 10?

Joel Smith and pick 10 for pick 7 is not that bad a deal. We get an experienced class player and still keep a top 10 pick. As l have said before, Collingwood have a large inexperienced foundation that needs to have a little more experience around it.

What happens if our top liners have another injury riddled year. I'd rather have Smith to throw in the middle to take some heat rather than throw the lambs to slaughter.

Remember we still have many young midfielders to blood, a little more experience for the cost of 3 places in the draft can't be all that bad.

I'll still support them. I'll still go to their game when the play up here. Nothing's going to change there.

Just that there is no way in hell I'll allow myself to, in any way, pay the salary of someone incompetent enough to do that.

I'd give Hawthorn pick 7 and O'Bree for Smith and pick 10. O'Bree would be a good recycled Hawk in the Tony Woods mould.

But I don't know why we'd bother, may as well just take Smith in the PSD if available and keep pick 7.

Just letting everyone know this isn't me.

But couldnt Hawthorn threaten to take him back in PSD?

This deal really isnt that bad, have a think about it fella's....

We are super keen on Angus Monfries thats who we'll more then likely take, I cant see hawks taking him with pick 7 they need talls not smalls, Adelaide and Richmond both want Ruckmen and then we're back to pick 10

So it could end up basicly costing us nothing if we're gonna get the same player with pick 10 as we would with pick 7

No because their dispute with Smith is over money. If they take him in the PSD he'll get paid what they currently dont want to pay. Why would they waste a pick when they can simply agree here and now to pay him what he wants.
