Anderson's spoil in the other pocket and clearing kick was equally important.

Ando will be a good backpocket and a difficult opponent for medium marking forwards if that spoil is anything to go by.

His height will be a plus when he plays small, but will have a size advantage over opponents he is quick enough to play on.

Definitely had me cheering for him. Game was on the line, Brown was a chance at the mark, but to put his body on the line showed brilliant courage. That's how you earn respect in football and his must have gone up 2 or 3 notches.

On another note, Thornton's last quarter was excellent. Supply to Brown wasn't great, but more than held his own when he was one out.

And how about Bower's mark on Bradshaw? Was rusty early on, but he completely out-pointed a significantly bigger and more experienced opponent and took a beauty.

That's the key thing, an effort like that and the wraps he would've got from his teammates and coaches...he's gotta draw so much confidence from that and hopefully go on now.
