Amazing facts about AJ

Hes only 18

Was on the rookie list

Has play every game this year(Great effort for a kid)

Hes a tough Tassie boy

How good will he be with 2 more preseasons

I think he will be another K Cornes (lets hope so)

He's 19, turns 20 in July.
But gee he has done an amazing job this year. Amazing what an opportunity does. No doubt he'll be given another big job next week.

He was originally a good in and under midfielder in tassie carnival so i hope in the years to come he can hurt the opposition the other way, He is awesome. He deserves a rising star, doesn't really have stats to back him up.

The Franchina comparison wasn't disrespectful at all to AJ!

I loved Franchina :thumbsu:

I liked the Darren Hulme comparison the best, such a little tyro.

Stick him on Montagna next week.

AJ has really impressed me. Did not really rate him until watching him play against G Ablett in a pre season game. Really took it up to him. He does remind me of Franchina but a must faster version. Hopefully over the next few years he nrrds to develop his offensive game and hurt his opponent the other way just like Cameron Ling does. That shot on goal in the dying stages should have been needled through if he wants to take his game to the next level.

Dirk

AJ is a better footballer than Franger, but Franger was a great tagger just the same. AJ will eventually hurt sides going the other way, something that his predecessor never did.

Sorry, but his nick name has to be AJ. Joey is taken.

I honestly thought AJ was going to be a gun small forward, and he still could be. If any of you have watched him playing for Tassie or even some of his work in the Ants you would know that the kid is awesome around goals.
He's an absolute tank and I think he'd be great in the middle blocking for Judd.

I remember when we first got Juddy and I bought the Carlton jumper with number five on the back and went down to family day and I ask Joey for his autograph, I turned around and he said to me "Soon your going to be slapping a number 4 infront of that 5 kid" .....

Boy was he right!

1. Pretty sure he isn't.

2. This sort of racism is stone-age stuff.

No Thy I wasn;t being racist, I had written abso-lute gun, programming changed it with *** so I can see it;s been misinterpreted.

I think AJ is one out of the box.

kept Hooper to a grand total of...wait for it....1 dream team and 1 sc point! lmao

lol no shit? Hahaha that awesome

It's funny, for years I've said to myself "How do all the other clubs pluck these brilliant rookie listed players!?"

AJ is answering that call every week

It took me a while to discover "Joey" was AJ and not JA! Thought it might have been a revival of a thread from last year when JA stepped up against Brown and the Lions at the Gabba.

This kid - AJ - is improving and gaining in confidence each week. Fingers crossed he can keep going and become a long term fixture in a successful team.

While I'm at it, thought Hampson did well last night and he too is improving with each senior game he gets. Can run and jump this boy and skills showing improvement.

:thumbsu: well done young guns

Agree, and will build with confidence. It;s really an exciting time with our young team, led by a champion.

V Hooper ( 4 disposals with 3FA) Avg in 09: 9 disposals 3 marks 2.5 goals per game

Conclusion:
Opponents average: 13.5 disposals 2.5 marks 0.6 goals per game
The large marjority of Joseph's opponents were all well down on their averages for 2009, with a couple around the same mark as their average.
Even if a few players on that list are just fringe players who don't usually have such a big impact anyway, Joseph still beat them which is a win by all means. Can't wait to see him play on Ablett as he did a great job in the Pre-season:thumbsu:

- In round 2 he played on Hooper
- Carrazzo tagged Gilbee, not AJ. Dunno who he had.
- He played on Kerr verse WCE, not Wirra
