Wouldn't be surprised if Fremantle go for O'Brien now...their key forwards are now Pavlich, Bradley and Michael Johnson as a swingman...and that's it.

Don't think o'brien is much of a KPF, 193cm and skinny. Be better going for membrey or Shaw imo

No we couldn't do worse, terrible player who off-field is a nutcase that is bad for culture and bad for his teammates.

I think you've overstated that a bit blaze. He more struck me as an eccentric dude that didn't fit the clique. It may mean it makes it harder for him to fit into a team environment, but it doesn't make him a nutcase.

Remember, he left us! and was a required player when he left, he can play fwd and back and takes his chances as a fwd, we could do a hell of a lot worse IMO, would make a very good depth option.

Nope.. we traded him out due to off-field things. Remember every time he didn't get the ball passed to him he would have an on-field tantrum and start flipping out at his teammates?

My bro and his mates saw Jack out on the town in Melb a week or 2 ago. Said he was a fair w***er of a bloke.

Yep, everything i've heard consistently suggests he is a shit bloke.

Plus he has been terrible at freo the past few years.. he doesn't have a chance in hell at coming back to the pies

I dunno, him showing up at Licca's wedding uninvited and running around in a Collingwood guernsey is pretty bloody weird.

Its funny. I checked the date of that post. I thought I read exactly the same thing about 2 years ago. Maybe Jack gets out a lot. I must admit that I think that the general standard of blokes out on the piss is pretty poor....so Jack must be a real basket case...

Amazing really, came as a defender, he did have that one brilliant year as a dead eye forward then, it all went down hill pretty fast from there. Last game I saw him play for Freo was embarrassing for him, looked like he had absolutely NFI! How did it all go so horribly wrong for him? Seems with Jack it was always a game played between his ears.

I'm amazed that any Collingwood person would think us taking him back a good idea. Not only has he been hopeless for the last 2 years, he basically stabbed us in the back by leaving when he did, as we still wanted him. I'm pretty sure we were playing him at full back in the VFL by late in 2010 and he was doing quite ok, and he might have had a future as a key defender with us, but when Tarrant returned he got in a huff and left. When Prestigiacomo retired and then Brown did his knee, if Anthony was still at the club in 2011 he may still have got a decent run. He gets no sympathy at all from me, and I can't see anyone picking him up.

He is returning to Victoria from all reports, and 3-4 VFL clubs are after his signature, he will not play AFL next year, but if he proved himself at VFL level in 2013 he is young enough to still get a second chance at a weaker club in 2014, because to put it simply, there aren't that many talented forwards out there in the AFL, there just aren't.

No young club would want him for off-field reasons, one interview and no thank you.

But Matty is he even a talented forward? Not saying he isn't but what the hell happened at Freo. They have an ordinary forward line besides pavlich.

He has absolutely no chance of ever ending up at pies again

Yeah, with an ego that size the interview either rules you out for a VFL spot, or secures you the coaching job at Carlton.

Nice slap, like it, like it a lot.

But don't worry about Jack, coz he's......

The David Cassisdy look at the end is just a gem.

He's not as bad a bloke as everyone is making out. I met him a couple of times back in 08/09 I think, he was rather relaxed and friendly. Rumours about him not fitting in have been round since he joined the club, and he publicly admitted himself he had trouble fitting in, but no-ones ever said he was a bad influence or derailed the club in a negative way. He had the full forward ego thing going on for while, but the same can be said of heaps of full forwards so that's not such ae big deal.

It's a shame he went down hill so fast, that year he kicked 50 he could have done better too, he couldn't miss early in the season, but lost his touch late in the season and never made his way back to form the following year. That was the same year medhurst got stuck in the 2s, he needed more game time to recover but got snubbed by MM, his ego got the better of him and he left.. People do grow up, maybe by getting sacked by freo he'll hit rock bottom and sort himself out. he had serious talent, he was such a straight dead eye goal kick, he was a good lead out forward, a good mark, and composed under pressure. If he got his shit together I'd be happy for Collingwood to give him a second chance, put a couple of easy exit clauses in his contract and if he's not living up to expectations move him on.
