The knock on Longmire isn’t the match day tactics, I don’t reckon. It’s not implementing a better system at training to produce better decision making when the pressure is on.

The blind kicks to no one clearly aren’t the gameplan. And they’re burning players who are in decent positions, suggesting our structures are ok. The short option out of defence was usually there last night. We kicked it straight over their heads

LEts check the Swans inside 50's in 2018

Round 1 vs West Coast - 52 to 60
Round 2 vs Port Adelaide - 52 to 52
Round 3 vs GWS - 50 to 54
Round 4 vs Bulldogs - 42 to 60
Round 5 vs Adelaide - 64 to 48
Round 6 vs Geelong - 52 to 52
Round 7 vs North Melbourne - 58 to 48
Round 8 vs Hawthorn - 39 to 63
Round 9 vs Fremantle - 60 to 50
Round 10 vs Brisbane - 51 to 56
Round 11 vs Carlton - 62 to 41
Round 12 vs St Kilda - 49 to 52
Round 13 vs West Coast - 52 to 63
Round 15 vs Richmond - 43 to 61
Round 16 vs Geelong - 46 to 59

So for inside 50's in 2018 we have played 15 matches, we have won the inside 50 count 4 times, drawn 2 times and lost 9 times.

Inside 50 count is a pretty good way to indicate midfield dominance, and it shows that our midfield lets the opposition midfield get the ball too much and they do not attack nearly as well as their opposition does.

This has been masked by our defence playing extremely well.

Problem is when the pressure goes up and the ball comes in quicker they don’t have enough time to set up.

I am done talking about him, good or bad because we know he'll get his usual defenders. It is like he's accepted a challenge of generating the shittiest game plan in football. He's done it. Congrats John.

Vindication is all I have left after watching our recent displays

Its unwatchable how the **** do the players enjoy playing that i have no idea.
Playing and watching are two completely different things. I’m pretty sure I’d like to be playing in the AFL no matter how bad my employer is!

Don’t worry. now Longmire is being forced to replace McVeigh, Jack and Hannebery, things will turn around in the middle and coming out of defence.

After 5 losses for the year, which is disappointing, we turn to this. Incidentally we've lost to the reigning premiers, the runners up, prelim finalists, finalists and a team which is insignificant.

All 5 losses we were a chance to win at 3 qtr time, yet some want the coach gone.

Im not saying extend his contract or anything like that but seriously stick through thick and thin.

Really?

Well would you be willing to live on the Gold Coast?

No one has stopped watching or threatening to quit the team.

Staunch defence of the team regardless of output doesn’t make a supporter a hero or any more of a fan than anyone else.

We just got beaten up by a pretty ordinary side at home and we scored 20 points in the first half. Questions should be asked

Past 2 games the result should’ve been beyond doubt at 3 qtr time, though.

I think we’ve unquestionably gone backwards this year, due to a combination of factors, but Longmire needs to address our ball movement into the 50, and provide more support for Kennedy and Parker. At the moment our only other capable clearance player is tagging. Still don’t reckon youre anywhere near sacking him, though.

On one hand he;s our most successful coach in history....on the other we are massive under-achievers who play an awfully boring brand of football. Who knows what to think...but I remember a time when it was exciting to sit down and watch your club play....fun to plan a weekend around win/lose or draw..now it's almost like a choir, so hard to watch 30 players clogging the ball with the primary purpose of stopping scoring, especially when we have the talent available to be so much better than that crap.

Ask as many questions as you want just like i do. But (not you) saying they hope horse quits at the end of the year is just stupid.

I also dont see the half glass empty approach when we will be 5th at the rounds end having played a lot of youngsters. Were supporters expecting a flag at the start of this season? I would think where we sit is about par.

Btw where was all the negativity when we came from 4 goals down to beat geelong at whatever they call their ground now?

It really is, I thought we'd left that crap behind. Apparently not.

The problem with that comparison is that that game didn’t play like a final and this one did.

We haven’t been prepared to withstand the pressure that Richmond and Geelong have served in the past two weeks and it’s exposed a lot.

We also can’t hang out hats on that win forever

You also cant think its all doom and gloom after 2 losses in a row.

My understanding is that the players love playing for him (only what I’ve heard) and appearances would indicate that. However, I have to (now) agree that he’s not doing enough during games and there’s a clear indicator for this reasoning...Josh Kennedy. He’s copping supremely heavy tags and Longmire isn’t willing to break them by pushing him forward to expose the tagger. The guy is 190cm, an excellent mark and excellent kick for goal FFS! Bring a kid into the guts, they offer enthusiasm, even if they’re inexperienced...just change it up. Not saying move Kennedy, just break the tag!
