Hmmm. Bad luck I guess.

All that winning.

And only one flag.

Sounds like a Clinton campaign.
Sounds like the replacement people are wanting for him only exists in their wonderful Fantasy League inspired imagination.
Picture this! We sack Horse to look for a the best coach available. So we look for .....................wait for it........................someone who has had more success than Longmire ........mmmmm.............. let me think........OR someone who is unknown but can improve on Longmire's record to get us 2 premierships in 6 years!

Good luck with your fantasies folks!:)

From one game?

Nah they have been brilliant, not the coaches fault if you play poorly ;)

Poor list management!
Seriously folks!
Adelaide Football Club, the new AFL darlings & hot p'ship favourites who are breaking new grounds in high scoring & who the statisticians among us are adhering to & continuously make after the fact 'expert' comments to9 suit an argument, at quarter time against LOLNorth, were
0 goals 0 behinds to 10 goals 4 behinds. THAT'S 14 SHOTS TO ZERO in one quarter.

No stop it. This is too funny.

How's this for an early call? Adelaide won't win the premiership!
ATTENTION MODS WHO HAVE ASKED ME TO POST FACTS!

Here's one!
Even our poorly coached team can't 'achieve' STATS like.

Trying to find where I said sack Horse.

Let me rummage around a bit and I will get back to you.

Anyway PROTECT THE QUEEN or something.

Lol Longmire wouldnt have a quarter as bad as the crows first may come back to haunt you

But you know what possibly he wouldnt because he would chuck every player back and clog the game and just score about 30 himself and still lose convincingly, but do enough to keep fans like you happy i guess

Longmire has a more talented team than Pyke, i reckon thats as factual as what you said

This team won a 2012 grand final in spite of the coaching im starting to think

It's true. We are yet to suffer a blow out - 50pts or more.

Hawks, GCE, ESS, Bris, Carl, WCE, Rich, Adel all have. Some of them well over 10 goals.

So does this mean we are competitive? Of course not. We've gone close to a 50pt margin, but have coughed up 6 goal lossses multiple times.

I think the fact that we haven't lost by 10 goals yet is evidence there is still gas in our collective tank. But if we do not start getting on the scoreboard that margin is an inevitability.

I'm not a sack-Longmire supporter, mind you.

I said 'people' want Horse sacked. That can include you but I didn't specify you.

Anyway it's better the devil you know & our best way going about this is to just let the current coach sort things out in this next era at the Swans.
GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!

Stability is needed at time like this.

I've been a critic of Horses game plan and late reaction times in the past, but last year he showed a marked improvement. And when I say 'he' I mane the coaching group a a whole.
Club has been successful under his tutelage but i reckon we should be looking at bringing in someone new in the next couple of years. Fresh ideas and approach

Let's not re-write history shall we? The reason we won in 2012 had a hell of a lot to do with the coaching.

I think we a have become very spoilt fans. I would have loved to have picked up another flag in this period and we should have but if we've been disappointing in the last four seasons then there's about half the comp who who love to be disappointed like that. God help us if we go through a proper lean patch. The knives can't come out fast enough.

No matter how good a coach is, if he's lost the players and won't change his plan then he's no good. Not saying any of that is happening at Sydney but you never really know. There's a reason guys like sheedy, hafey etc were all let go at various points in their careers. Doesn't mean they weren't great coaches.

Longmire changed at the end of 2015, we became much more attacking and finished 4th for points scored whilst being the best defensive side.

Can i ask the people who say he hasn't changed from last year why he would change a gameplan with that record?

I understand now that we're a quarter of the way through the season and its not working, for whatever reasons, and changes are needed to made. But wholesale gameplan changes take time to implement and execute.

Our list is also at a major crossroads which is what happens after a sustained period of success, also making it difficult to put plans in for next season if uncertain of what players we'll have.

This sort of thinking gets you in trouble. Change for the sake of change is bad. Slow start aside we were the best team for 2016, it doesn't make any sense to make radical changes.

Should Horse start making drastic changes to the team we'll fall further behind than before. Change needs to be handled slowly and Horse already has judging by the Brisbane game. We played smarter footy, slow the opponent down and find the kick. A lot more chip kicks to the side and back than we normally do which created plenty of space. In the past we'd play straight down the sides relying on our talls to mark and our smalls to scrounge. Cunningham played one of his best games for us and this was a result of the new plan, allowing us to use his speed

As of last Sunday we are becoming more of a running side with fast transition. Buddy to be isolated man on man. The old approach of clogging the forward line and holding the ball and scoring off stoppages consigned to the bin

Have gws, bulldogs or crows changed anything this year? As far as i can see their gamestyles are the same. Which for 2 of those teams wasn't good enough last year.

Their gamestyles are superior to ours, Our recent history against GWS,Bulldogs and the Crows is not something to write home about.

So yes, we need to adapt to theirs.

All 3 of those teams beat us at some point. GWS and Dogs in FINALS and Crows get us early but were a bit the same as last week in the final.

But that was the only way the deal could be done. There had to be a ridiculous deal done because Buddy is a ridiculous player that we actually had no right to get!
It's just that we were smart/foolish enough to come up with such a scenario!

We'll all never really know exactly how the deal is drawn up. For example, is a significant part of it in the end made up

It's always good to read some articles from the past just to have an updated perspective on the deal now that the landscape has changed in the AFL with regards to what contracts other players at other clubs are signing & how much the cap is actually now at.
Check this one out for example!
http://www.theroar.com.au/2015/04/23/the-buddy-blindside-afls-biggest-signing-in-detail/
Thanks so much for the article! It's great to remember just how brilliant it was:D

It's really time we all got over the Buddy deal. He has already more than paid for his contract with the marketing and sponsorship deals he has brought in. they effectively devised a method to pay him at the correct rate for five or six years and make the payments over nine! It's the AFL equivalent of 60 months interest free!! :p;)

Anyone in marketing will tell you it was the deal of the century! No need to wait for it to end, just look at the figures since it was announced he was coming, and since he has been here...

The bulldogs beat us in 2 close games, gws beat us twice when we copped injuries during the game and we smashed the crows in the finals. Our gamestyle was fine last year and our record and performances proved that.

You do need to tweak things from year to year but to try and adapt a gamestyle similar to gws and bulldogs at seasons start would be ridiculous given the type of players we have.

The problem we have this year is we're not winning enough contested football, this in part due to the loss of Mitchell, the decline of k jack and the poor form of Parker. Until this improves we are going to struggle.

The way this season's panning out, we could lose another 5 and still make the finals. And I reckon that's about what we might do. The cavalry are arriving. Rampe's not far away. I don't think you can win games without the cattle but Longmire's approach in the face of losses has been uncompromising. That's a good thing.

i didn't use any words like radical or drastic and certainly didn't mean change in that sense. the use of the word adapt should of signalled that.

its laughable to suggest we changed our gameplan against brisbane. brisbane was atrocious and let us do what we wanted. no side wants to go long down the line to a contest when they can go through the corridor.

Im up for a sacking but I think he's signed to a long term deal so we are stuck with him unfortunately.
