Is not going to happen i suspect through the week its going to be echoed quite a bit on this board but people have to understand he is barely into a 3year extension and thus a payout could potentially bankrupt the club.

However should the season continue as i predict i think a review on the club would not be the worst thing to happen and should be encouraged we are a powerful club 50k+ members no reason to not seek out the issues and get the absolute best out of everyone.

I just realised that after it was pointed out in the gameday thread. All I can say now is strap yourselves in ladies and gents. This is going to be a bumpy ride.

10 plus years of playing finals intensity football week in week out deep into September has taken its toll.

They are tired, devoid of confidence and form and none of that has anything to do with the coaches.

You get as many games into the kids as possible with a senior team structure in place so the kids don't get belted and start planning for next year and potentially two picks in the top 20.

This day has been coming for a while and last year was a miracle with what we had available (hurts even more considering how much of a golden opportunity it was) that we were not able to close it out.

In my opinion Horse has to go seeing just how far this team has spiralled downwards, but also how far the competition has overtaken us. Even really good coaches shouldn't be coach for probably more than a decade, because you just need fresh eyes every now and then to handle the playing group you have. I look at our youngsters - Heeney, Mills, Aliir, Jones, Lloyd, Newman, Melican, Papley, and then real newbies like Florent and Hayward - and I just see a more dynamic bunch of kids coming through than when Horse first started. Two hallmarks of Horse's time as coach have been defensive/contested focus, and a lack of emphasis on skill. IMO this sort of mindset is going to be detrimental to a group of youngsters who are pretty skilful, seem to take the game on, and have some dynamic qualities about them. Horse's stuff worked with guys like Hannebery, Kennedy, Jack, Grundy, Smith etc because they were limited players who he was actually able to take their limited qualities and turn them into beasts at the contest. Well done Horse, props to you. I actually think he's done a bloody great job with the list he's had over the past several years getting the best out of guys who aren't really dynamic players.

But times have changed. He's got a different group coming through and I don't trust him enough to bring out the best in some kids who look ridiculously promising. I don't want to be watching in five years when Heeney is in his prime delivering some of the shite he served up today, same with the rest of them.

(Obviously I know he won't be going anywhere for at least a few years but this is just what i'm thinking needs to happen.) He's been a great coach for us but it's unrealistic to expect him to produce top four years every season with every new group of players he has at his disposal. Our list is turning over quite dramatically so it makes sense to act now while the kids are still developing and coming through
