Could be a decent trade if you finish first

That way it’s a 6 pick upgrade for John Noble

However, that would be extremely risky given this years finish plus as you said, you would want points for McGuane who by all accounts is a star

Next year if a team bid on McGuane with an early pick in the 1st round Collingwood will need a first round pick to match the bid obviously. So yeah I agree with your point it would be a massive risk to trade away their future 1st and in my opinion not worth the risk.

I think they'll tackle that hurdle next season. No point worrying about what picks they need for a bid when it's something that cant be determined until closer to next trade season.

Furute pick probably worth more to us next year that Zeke Uwland, an academy player, is in the draft and tipped currently to be in the top couple prospects.

Maybe. But you can still auction off pick 12 to the highest bidder this year. I think you’d get more than pies f1 and noble for it.

It was always going to slip, but it remains a fair/generous trade for Noble. The thing that has changed is you guys wanting Houston and not quite having the currency to get it done. So your media pals have been running with a one-sided trade where you fleece GC (13, 23 for Noble, F1 is bonkers), and you have hopped on board.

No. GC wants a contracted Noble fairly badly. So we will get a very very good deal from a team that needs to trade out 13, 23 and 29 because those picks will be eaten by an academy bid anyway. They have other interested parties that want those picks but they will do a deal with us because getting Noble in first is more important. I'm not saying we will get 23 and 13 for Noble and a f1 but it won't be too far off that. If our deal was outlandish they would have already done a deal with someone else.

Surely they just get the best deal for those picks. Noble should have nothing to do with pick 13, if GC want him badly they could just offer 23 which is very generous. Have said that, Rioli shouldn't have anything to do with pick 6, but here we are.

He wont get a game if your best 26 are fit. The idea that they should be throwing in a 1st round pick and something else without something serious going back seems insane.

But this is GCS. Literally anything is possible.
