I think BL asked for the hearing of Browns striking charge to be delayed until next monday,so that their 4 Queens Councillors, have time to work out which technical infringement they can use to get him off????
I think they asked for a delay in the hearing because Brown is in hospital with an infected arm. It should be reasonable enough to let him recovery from injury before facing the tribunal, especially since there aren't any more games for a while now.

Your clipping paths could use a little work ;)

- still better than most of the tripe we see on this site though.

Brown will get 4-6 weeks i reckon.

Fantastic player when he's on the park. But really needs to get his temprement under raps. Loses is far too easily.

But on a side note, i find it pretty hard to work out how Port didn't at least get one player reported from the game?? haven't really seen everything that went down but it surely wasn't just brissy players throwing punches....???

Actually they're called Senior Counsel these days...just to be technical. ;)

I find it interesting, that in the same video vision, you have Brogan hiting Brad Scott, and he is not even reported. He struck a player he should get at least 3 weeks, except for some odd reason he wasn't reported.Selective.

Seven weeks
Three for the strike
Two for the fact its in a GF and GF penalties are heavier, especially because Brown ran into the fight (ie he was 20-30 metres away when the melee started)
One because the tribunal owe him from last time and want to get him back (didn't take long did it?)
One for the wrestling charge - he will be the first player suspended for wrestling due to his shocking record.

The fact that I have no idea what you're talking about shows that Red_Devil is a little confused when he says I think I'm an expert.

Its a good pic Zeke, I just felt like complaining.

Course he didnt touch Wakelin, Shane was sitting in the grandstand.
Apologies, I was a bit tired when I wrote that and it came out wrong. I meant he didn't do any damage sorry. I'll make a note not to post when exhausted. :o

the tribunal is a joke, how u can get 10 weeks for a little 30 seconbd wrestle is beyond me. How u can get 3 weeks for two weak reports (which should have been free kicks at best) with no prior record is a joke, and
how we can be considering 8 weeks for 1 punch which didnt cause the head to go back, didnt cause him to leave the ground, didnt cause ne blood is just a joke. Record aside, the tribunal is turning our game into a soft, technical sport where men cannot stand up for their mates.

brown wouldn't even be suspended if it was league, lynch may have gotten 1 or 2 weeks, black certainly wouldn't have. I think they need to toughen up, not to that extent but stop handing out harsh penalties for small incidents, particularly those that happen in a Grand Final when tension is at it's highest.

I think Brown will get around 5 weeks, won't be surprised if it is around 8 though.

Because we play Freo round 1, you should appreciate that.

The technical rule will be '' this is beyond the bounds of the AFL tribunal as all Carr accidents must be reported within 24 hours '' :p

or

'' due to Player Brown striking Player Carr we ask that the tribunal throw this charge out as Player carr wasnt charged with striking Player Browns fist with his head''

Was the injury to his elbow just a jarred elbow caused by Carrs head

Well Lynchy got 10 for not even making contact, so who the hell knows what the tribunal will do to Brown.

Lynch threw 40 punches and his attent was to do severe damage to Wakelin so that he didnt play any part in the game.

Brown only threw the 1 or 2 and altho one did connect it wasnt the most forceful punch going around.

Its really hard to see what they will do.

Any other player any other time it would be 2 games. But its Borwn who has a disgraceful record which should add another 2-3 and then the Grand Final thing which could add another 1-2.

I reckon give him 6 games and put him on a 12 month 6-game suspended sentence and tell him if he comes up at all in his next season he will get 6 games immediately.

7 weeks.
he'll never learn and people say that fletch is dirty.....
his stupid lawyers r probably trying to say some bs technicality to get him off like " oh it was a soft punch blah blah blah"
also black shouldve got 2 weeks not 3 he no way did strike kane cornes that was just a wossy little tap.

Black should have got off. The tribunal has lost the plot.

Seems as though you can knee someone in the head when the ball is dead and fracture their eye-socket but you can't vigorously tackle an opponent with the ball. Weird?

Scary to think that some of you are going to vote next weekend to decide who is going to run australia... Lynch was a bit harsh but hey i guess that we want to keep parents happy so they play Aussie Rules rather than Soccer... And as for fights if u want to see a decent one get a couple of last years (2003) NCFL Grand Final... Makes what happens in the AFL Grand Final look like kindergarden..

Anywhere from 5-10 depending on what case (excuse) can be produced by Brisbane

a great idea. see whether he can be as agressive with a suspended sentence hanging over his head.

Settle petal if you read the whole post you would have realised the humour behind it..I appreciate as a fan of the Lions you have an emotional investment and been a young'un you believe everything you read at face value.

Passion is what keeps football clubs going and you certainly have it

I think its fine in principle but what will happen is he then will be baited by every sniper from every club until he snaps...Brown is the enforcer and other teams need to be wary of him. Give him his time and then let him loose

If Mark Bickley got 5 weeks for smashing Wakelin's face (literally - 2002) - accidental or not - still reckless and numerous other incidents where players have caused serious injuries and gotten away with it most significantly Mr. farmer's intentional knee in the face (although didn cause any injury but had the the potential to cause one) - brown should not be given any more than 5 weeks if at all given his "punch" didn cause any injury and was not without provocation.

The tribunal said that Lynch's penalty was severe due to the fact that it was unprovoked and behind play. I was sitting about 15-20 metres from Lynch when he lost the plot and it was unprovoked and behind play.

Browns incident was not a behind the play incident and I believe that as he was also under attack from a few Power players at the same time he may get somewhere between 4-6 due to his previous record.

The selective nature of what goes up worries me though. Why was Chad Cornes not reported for striking at Brown's knee? Does a strike have to be to the head? Brogan stirking Scott?

If Baker can king hit Kane Johnson behind play and get 4 weeks, then I do not think this is worse than that, so if he gets 2 or 3 for the action, then 2 or 3 extra for his poor record, I think 4-6 it will be.

Brown was behind the play when the fight started, and he ran in 20 metres to join it. That will count against him.

I suggest you go see the best eye specialist in Brisbane if you think Thug Lynch didn't make contact with Wakelin, Stevie Wonder could see he landed SEVERAL.
