It's the marking around the ground, plus his struggles to get clear hit outs also 10 disposals isn't cutting it

Gave away too many soft frees. Don't grab a bit of the jumper, as umpires will always pay those even when the oppo is grappling you illegally. They get picked up in their review, if the reviewer's see a jumper tug.

Must have hit 5 or 6 taps to DISadvantage in the 2nd half straight down oppo players' throat.

In the 2nd half of the last few games when he is knackered, he tries to do too much on the ground rather than block for smaller players and let them get the ball. He made a few too many fumbly ground ball gets in the 2nd half which meant Swans players won the clearance.

It was always going to be tough against Grundy who is a better player, but as big a heart as Jordan has, he has to grow a smarter brain and realize it's not always see ball get ball that is needed.

The amount of times Grundy had a fistful of Sweets jumper but no free paid was infuriating.

Sweet had 5 frees against and Grundy had 1. And like you I saw Grundy often had a fistful of Sweet's guernsey and no free was paid.

But then the only holding off the ball frees I saw were paid to Sydney even though Butters and JHF were often being held before they received the ball.

Yeah they are pricks but you have to be smart and adjust as they show their bias

Until Willie got that push in the back double goal against the Hawks, in the 2nd half, the free kicks were 0-12. As TeeKray said during the last quarter, it's hard to believe that in such an open interpretation rules/game how can Hawthorn do everything perfectly and only us transgress a dozen times.

I dont care what anyone says, the pricks are coached to make sure the game is kept close.

Lobbe Mark II.
Grossly unfair. He's not a great mark but every other aspect of his around the ground work is streets ahead of Lobbe.

Very harsh on the bloke
Grundy is 1 of the best most consistent ruckman of the last 10 years and xerri in my opinion is the best ruckman in the comp over the last 2 years. Not every player wins 100% of the time

I can't agree with that PL, Lobbe was C grade at best, the rag dolling he was given by a very young Max Gawn where the rock lobster made Gawn look like the best ruckman who had ever played the game is still the most one sided ruck smashing I have seen this millenium.
I understand '54. Lobbe was beyond terrible and my judgement of Sweet may be harsh but I can see similarities particularly in the way he jumps and makes contact, lack of clear taps to advantage at stoppages and now in the centre and zero marks around the ground. It's a concern of mine.

Lobbe was an elite tackler. What is Sweet elite at except hitting the ball to no one in particular. I'll give you he's a better than normal kick for a ruckman. Sweet doesn't even try to mark he protects his face, it's embarrassing to watch. He averages 11 touches, three clearances and zero marks that's nowhere near upto scratch for a number one ruck.

Was never going to beat Xerri.

Had no expection of him doing that.

Wasn't going to beat Grundy. Not sure Grundy is what he was though.

This week is English.

He's not beating him on current form.

I'm not quite sure what the deal is but yeah as Crafty Bernado says, he use to run games out really hard last year. Dunno what is going on. Maybe Port's fitness program has caught up with him.

Also, he doesn't seem to be anywhere near the marking contest ever. It's almost like he's got bad eyesight or something. His around the ground work is limited.

I don't know why he's getting done for so many free kicks against him but you would think Lobbe would've worked out a plan to negate that. You'd think?

I think his general ruck and follow ups are pretty good. He's a decent kick when he's got time.

I don't watch the Magpies so I don't know if Visentini is the answer now or a bit down the track. A fair few people are pretty high on him. If he can get around the ground and take a few contested marks and intercepts, it would help us out a lot.
