Josh Carr is returning to the City of Churches for "family reasons". Port aren't going to trade for him and will most likely pick him up in the PSD. The question is, would he be worth us having a look at him?

You wouldn't be able to trade for him unless he agreed to come to the crows, which is unlikely. Also, our PSD pick is before the crows.

So to answer your question, it's not worth wasting your time on carr.

I can't see Adelaide having any interest in him at all. I've stated the reasoning behind this before and I don't wish to repeat myself.

However, it will be interesting to see what happens in the ND and PSD from Port's perspective. Port will have the third selection in the PSD, assuming that West Coast fill up in the ND - as seems likely given that they only have 4 vacancies and their last selection will be #36 overall. Will Port want to use this selection on Carr, or will they keep 2 positions free for use in the PSD, taking someone else first and Carr second. Given that they are the only player in the market for him, this is something they can clearly afford to do.

No, we have better younger players who play a similar role.

It would be highly unprofesional to waste a spot on list just to stuff Port around.

At 29 why would Port even want him back. Surely he would either play a lot of SANFL or take the place of a kid, ie Mitch Farmer in the 22.

Be like us wanting Kane Johnson back.

Who would they be?

IMO He would be competing for Shirley's spot. I think Carr is better than Shirley so for pick 120 then maybe, but really what is the point.

Didn't vote in the poll, first option is too high price, second option is garbage, third option is the closest to the mark.

He is worth considering should we have a spot available for the pre season draft - and have salary room to accommodate.

I would be devastated if we gave up a draft pick for him.

:thumbsu: You took the thought right out of my head

Prima facie - the answer is "no" however, i would delist Shirley & take Carr,
if we are going to not fast-track any young players into Shirley's role

but then i've always been president of the Shirley fan club:D

This is something that i've been thinking about TBH. I've posted before that port may leave 2 spots for the PSD and it would make sense if the second one was for carr.

Or recruiting experienced mid-fielders who only averaged 16 disposals per game this year.
However if nothing else he still showed at Freo that he is a big game player. Some of the other games he looked as if his mind wasn't on the job for whatever reason.

Personally I hope we do get him back. :thumbsu:
