Out of contract at seasons end. Has kicked bags of 5 and 4 to start the season on 9 goals from 2 games. Would we be interested. Would be a decent partner up fwd with Moore and more then capable in the ruck which would allow us to trade Witts for a first rounder

Bahahahahaha funniest thing I have read in a long time. Cheers for the laugh.

Witts isn't going for a first rounder if he is traded. He's done nothing to be worth that.

The fact the last few seasons we have chased Mitch Clarke and Kreuzer suggests the Pies aren't happy with our third tall stocks, at least not yet.

Barring injury we will have Gault, Cox, Wyatt and potentially Keeffe as options next season, none of those sound like long term options, but a season is a long time in football and all have the opportunity to improve, obviously Keeffe will be given next season to do so.

Jenkins is Victorian, will perhaps consider a big offer, but given the Crows losses in recent years, they should have the coin to convince him to stay, should his form continue.

I've like Jenkins for a couple of years now. My mate who supports Geelong has a knack of winning money on Jenkins for first goal kicker or most goals (not every game, just when he feels like it), and I guess that's what really brought him to my attention.

I think if we were to chase him hard last season or better yet the season before, we might've got him for a reasonable price. But the attention is there now, plus he's not exactly young anymore, so to get him across it'd have to be a big deal for 5 years, you'd think. I really doubt he's worth that - and in five years it becomes even more speculative.

Heaven forbid Collingwood actually drafting and developing our own key forward. If Moore wasn't father son, shit we'd be in trouble.

We aren't getting a top 20 pick for Witts that horse has bolted.

He isn't young anymore so clubs won't move that sort of currency based on potential and if he's giving us output worthy of a 1st rounder he'll be too important to trade...

It's just such a shame that doubt lingers over Scharenberg's body because Langdon on the trade table could be interesting. I also think there'll be at least one or two that walk out at years end.

On a side note good choice in Jenkins the main issue is that he's firmly entrenched at West Horsham!

Regardless of what he's done, a big big ruckman that can do the job as first ruck goes expensive.
But I suspect we will have both Witts and Grundy next year anyway.
Can't see us giving one up cheap (unless no choice ie salary cap pressure or player demanding to leave)

Who do you think is walking out?

Witts would never, on current form, attract a first round bid.

But that's a bit of a distraction from the main point of the thread which is "is Josh Jenkins worth pursuing". The answer is Hell Yes - he'd be a perfect fit alongside Moore and Grundy, though we'd be unlikely to get him. Offer him 4 years on decent coin. But having lost Danger, the Crows probably have plenty of money to keep him.

My comment was in general because it happens every year. Freeman, Beams, Thomas and Wellingham are guys that we wanted to keep, but left in consecutive years.

Given that all 3 are uncontracted and will receive contract offers my guess would be that it'll come from Witts and Toovey if they spend the year at VFL level and I'd have Broomhead 50/50 at this stage regardless of opportunity.

I've heard from a very reliable source that Wellingham was pushed in the same way Shaw was.

Club was sick of his behaviour and "strongly urged" him to consider a trade. Very unprofessional and was a heavy user.

I remember comments from someone on here at the time about him doing so whilst at the club hence the clip from Walshy on the way out. Unfortunately though having never heard about it myself it's hard to put much stock in it.
