Josh knows he that he is going to the Saints however he is somewhat troubled at how he is goung to break the news to his Giants team mates
Massive price, likely to be pick 3-5 and 10-12, treloar and 28 went for 7 and and a future first (the value of it was unknown at the time), is Kelly worth more than Treloar was? By season's end maybe. Feel like our 2017 and 2018 firsts would be fair with nothing coming back like Collingwood got, if it was our pick (this or next year) and the hawks pick I'd expect something coming back. All depending on whether or not he does actually want to leave of course, hard to see him turning down North's offer if he does though.Kelly for McCartin & the Saints first?
GWS probably wouldn't want McCartin though. Probably the saints first & the first they got from the Hawks

yeah it is. choosing between North and GWS. Saints not even in the picture. in fact, i'd say after North have a resounding upset win over the crows this arvo his decision will be made. The decision is being made as we speak.
Yeah, no way McCartin Cameron and Patton all play in the same team.

all in good faith. was a great win by st.kilda.Started sensibly, then lost me.
I do think the same to be honest.
But last night was timely.
Dont think we have given up on him yet so i doubt we are shopping around this early in the year. What are the odds that GWS approached the Saints to try to get a higher price from North?

Is it a higher price though? If come the end of the season Hawthorn finish above North (they should) and Saints are around 4th or 5th (they could) our first and second represents pretty good value compared to the Saints two firsts (and that's if St Kilda want to deal with both).
I'm just trying to make sense of it. From what I've heard North have been in Kelly's ear for years and now the Saints are popping up at the last minute.
Ward played a great game tonight. One of the most underrated players in the comp
Saints have been Kelly fans from when he played junior footy. We did everything we could to draft him in his draft year & if rumours are true were close to securing pick 2 from the Dees until GWS came in with a better offer.
You would have to be naive to think St Kilda as well as a number of other clubs weren't asking the question from Kelly's management. Saints, like North, & possibly another club or two, are in a great position to get him. Saints have the Money + draft picks. North obviously favourites with the much publicised 9mill / 9yr offer in front of Josh.

He's a smart man around trade discussionsYou're CEO sounded like they have been at the very least been discussing what the possibilities are.
How so? Does he know Josh?
It's good money obviously, but why would he want to go to north? They're at the start of the rebuild and by taking 9m over 9 years it doesn't exactly leave much wiggle room to attack good free agents in the future.
