Been through this in the thread many times. He cant leave our list except to the PSD without our agreement. That's a simple fact.
He may get that agreement and likely will as a trade is in everyones interest, not the least his if he chooses North. But we can shop him around.

The players have all the power these days.

Kelly will decide where he wants to play. GWS then have a choice :
1 - Get the best deal possible from his chosen destination club
Or
2 - Send him into the draft and lose all goodwill with every player manager.

This might sound biased but I've always heard North are pretty easy to deal with.

Most clubs seem to be very reasonable these days.
Only exceptions could be Essendon, and Gold Coast when Cochrane gets involved.

I think your posting in pure hope. Kelly will pick a club - big chance it's yours - which ever club he picks he will play at next year. I have never seen a club pick another club and tell the player your playing there next year.

GWS have been really good at the trade table. If he leaves you will get great picks to continue the juggernaut.

I think he will end up with us or at North. As you say we will get trade value if he goes.
It is true that we have to agree to the trade though. We did shop Treloar to the Tigers to pry 2 first rounders out of Collingwood. Trading is a pragmatic business, it's a compliment to Kelly and the club that developed him to make him an offer .
Our club will act in it's own interests though, as will North.

Not specifically Saints. At some point there will be posturing. I think both parties will act in good faith, nothing wrong with negiotating hard. I wont blame him for taking an offer if it's close to as reported. That's not the same as saying we have no choice though.

Really, it's a silly self defeating hypothetical scenario. It won't even come down to counter offers if Josh nominates a club.

If he's going he will nominate and the GWS will have to take the best the designated club offers (within reason).

Kelly is from Brighton. Not the peninsula.

Elwood is 15 minutes from Nth Melbourne as well.

Kelly believes going to St Kilda, a club on he rise, & with a superior development program, will bring out the best in him. He sees himself in a St Kilda jumper, running down the wings of Jihad Stadium.

I doubt it lol, irrespective of Kelly we have two first rounders this year, huge salary cap space, and probably a finals spot. We'll be pretty happy I reckon.
