I've thought this a bit and I dont think it works for us. I dont write off Goldstein and do get he has value. We have sadly lost Tom Downie who started the year as our number two ruck. Dawson Simpson has come on this year though and now looks like a great backup pushing Mummy for his spot. Rory Lobb is doing doing great work as 2nd ruck/forward and we have Matt Flynn developing.

Think you may have to look elsewhere for a club who needs a mature ruck. I would have thought he could have a couple of good years with the Bulldogs mids.

Let's be frank, GWS don't need any players from anyone.

It looks as though you are too top heavy as it is with key forwards because the Patton/Cameron/Lobb combination is beginning to get shown up on occasions.

Mumford is done and Goldstein is a level above Simpson.

You can't just put forward an opinion with no reasonable justification and expect people should accept it.

It's akin to me saying Clarke, Dumont and Simpkin are spuds who would not get a game in anyone else's best 22. There's no reasonable justification for that statement, and makes it look as though I'm potting North for the sake of it.

Then why did zero posters on the GWS board select him in their 2016 best 22. You can say "injuries" all you want but several said "patful in if fit". He wasn't selected in your best 25.

This was already proved up above. He's had a good year and hats of to Carlton but he was never best 22 at GWS. A promising young player that was struck down by injury and didn't play enough games to deserve that spot.

What value do Atley or Goldstein have to us?

Goldstein could allow you to replace mumford - who is fading fast. You'd rather play lobb forward and with goldy you don't need to play a second ruck like simpson. Gives you more versatility by playing an extra mid. A rejuvenated goldy is dominant.
