Seriously though, that is the most bull**** article I've ever read (okay, well *one* of the most bull**** articles...)

For me it has to be the Ben Allan article from last week :D

Mike Sheahans article is journalistic artwork compared to that one

I have my own theory on all of this. Its his management doing all this, trying to get Judd a better deal with the Eagles at the end of the year. I reckon the managers are spreading these rumours! I dont believe theres anything in it!

for sure.

His manager wouldn't be doing his job if he wasn't trying to get a better offer.

But in the end, it will be Judd who decides which offer is best. And there are such things as intrinsic values .... they are the ones which don't involve cash.

maybe their readers are sick of reading how much the victorian clubs are getting arsed.

First real big test for the eagles of keeping a big named eastern stater.
For so long freo was knocked for loosing the likes of Black and White.
Finally the tables have turned and it is now the eagles with the problem.

Malthouse Gehrig Braun Morrison Wirrpunda Humm Judd Adkins Johnson (to name some). I think losing Black was a tremendous gain for you and Melbourne were caught cheating to pay for White.

We have the problem you'd like to have. You've got the problem no one wants - where to play Trent Croad!!:D :D :D :D :D

David Wirrpunda. And he's had his share of serious family woes back home, too.

Is it Salt & Vinegar or Barbeque on your shoulder this week, Sabre? ;)

I think most clubs would love that problem. We all can't have goal to goal lines of young gun KPPs McPharlin, Polak, Pavlich and Longmuir.... with support from Haddrill, Woods and Grover.

Exactly right Kenny, Croadie is contracted for 2 more years and wants to be part of the success that will come, we are not desperate to keep him , we have all the aces.

On the other hand over at the West Coast Victorians they made a dreadfull error when they needed KPP's far more than another midfielder that they didn't draft Polak. :)

We are eternally grateful for their crap drafting decisions as Polly is where he belongs. :)

Yes, and isn't it showing in the results what bad decisions we've made, eh? ;)

Well said but still its no excuse.

Much rather have this problem - loaded with midfield talent and the chance to trade for something we need. We certainly won't force our players to take pay cuts to keep him ;)

David Wirrpunda! A true West Coast Eagle! Im sure he was heavily poached in his younger days and more recently has had major family woes yet he still remains strong to the club! A champ, if Judd doesnt want to show this type of loyalty then we must trade him for the best deal available simple as that.

Oh and Chris Judd ( the actual player, not the poster who posts here) if you by some miracle are reading this thread, trust me when I speak for us all .... We dont want you to leave!

Why would Chris Judd want to leave a young gun team that stands a good chance of a flag in the next few years for one of the struggling Melbourne clubs?

Last year it was Pavlich that was the certainty to go home but he had developed mates at Freo and saw success around the corner. Not a bad decision.

For what it's worth, the quiet Judd of last year is now singing the club song after wins with exuberance. Hardly what you would expect of someone who wants to quit.

THe 10 Vic clubs are at the bottom of the ladder, not one of them has anything positive to be said of them. So the Journo's have to look elsewhere for their material.

Judd is not going anywhere and this is why:
1/ Judd is only 19 and probably enjoys being away from his parents as most 19 year olds do
2/ The Eagles are on the rise and if they keep progressing like they have. They will win a premiership or two within the next few years.
3/ He gets to come home every 2nd week to see his old mates
4/ Eagles will beable to afford to pay him as good a salary as anyone else. We loose Mcintosh at the end of the year and there will probably one or two delistings so theres no reason why we cant pay Judd a good salary.

Only time will tell what is going to happen.. I personally think it's a load of BS, and I would love to see Judd play out his career with the Eagles, but if he does decide to pack his bags and come back to Melbourne, good luck to him.
We are a smart club, and will milk the trade for all it's worth, I can't see us losing out on this deal.

Alternatively:

1/ Judd is only 19 and probably misses his family, as most teens do
2/ He has 14yrs of footy ahead of him, so even the worst of current teams could win a premiership by the time his career is over.
3/ WC only play in melbourne 5 times this year, and they spend about 2 days in victoria per game. Minus training, the match, sponsorship and other team commitments, he probably only gets a few hours with them
4/ WC have a young list, so all those coming out of contract will be looking for a pay increase, as opposed to some of the older Vic teams. Yes, we will delist 1 or 2 people, but we will also draft a minimum of 3. The higher WC finish on the ladder, the tighter the cap squeeze.

Best thing to do is ignore all the speculation and enjoy Judd's abilities in the blue and gold.
