Pick 11 a couple of years ago. Really good player who is on the fringes at Carlton due to their midfield depth. No doubt would be a lock in their best 22 in 2-3 years time but would definatly get better chains at gws, gold coast, freo, essendon, bulldogs just to name a few. What would he be worth?

I doubt he'll be a fringe player next year.

Haha, so a mid first rounder for a 2nd rounder, plus an undisciplined midfielder who wouldn't get a run in the Blues midfield?

Lucas would be an idiot if he thought he should move because he is on the fringes, it's his 2nd year, how many players are in top 4/5 sides regularly that are 2nd year?

Collingwood: Sidebottom, Blair, Beams
Geelong: Duncan, Menzel, Christensen
Hawthorn: Puopolo, I Smith
West Coast: Gaff, Darling

yea i would like him at essendon but doubt he will be traded

Never really rated him, got a lot of hype in his draft year for a couple of high possession games but butchered most of his disposals, he's a soft outside type, and lacks footy smarts and his footskills are a bit iffy, i'd stay away from him.

I thought you got that model last year?

Highly doubt the club will consider trading him. Had a wretched 18 months with hamstring injury after hamstring injury.

His game against St Kilda showed how much of a polished user of the ball he is.

Would be very surprised if he wasn't a best 22 player in 2012.

Spot on :thumbsu:

Good player, hope we hold on to him.

Unless the Blues have plans to make a big splash for a KPF, I can't see Lucas going anywhere. We'll need more quality coming through there over the next few years, and I've really liked what Lucas has shown late this season in patches. Clearly has talent, and should take over from Scotland over the next couple of years.

Grigg? yeah I didn't want him either, his effort and skills are not up to it, still don't understand why we picked him up, he'll be out of the best 22 soon enough IMO.

Lake and our 3rd rounder for Lucas could be ideal for Carlton as much as losing Lucas would hurt.

Lake could be such an ideal player to have while the window is still very open for the Blues.

Collingwood: Sidebottom, Blair, Beams
Geelong: Duncan, Menzel, Christensen
Hawthorn: Puopolo, I Smith
West Coast: Gaff, Darling

Blues: Duigan, Davies

So 2 or 3 each...there would be about 8 1st/2nd year players assuming they drafted 4 each year...

Gumbleton has zero currency.
If you were going to get anything of significance for him it would have been last year.
Would be a gun if he got his body right, but it keeps failing him.

Gunston would be more realistic, although if Kane does leave, my bet would be to GWS or WA.

...isn't the type of player we need.

Gunston looks like a lead up marking forward like Thornton and Walker.

We should have Caster earmarked for Armfield's spot.

Lucas isn't as hard as Armfield, but he has more poise, smarts and great hands for his size.

Carlton's main prioroty this trade period must be a GENUINE KPF. Unless one is involved I wouldn't even consider trading Lucas. Has had a prick of a year with injury and with a full pre season under his belt will be a VERY good player. Thought he was pretty unlucky to be dropped after the saints game.

Just because he hasn't been in the team doesn't mean he is up for trade. The guy was a twig and would be too easily pushed off it.

He will play the majority of games next year, don't you worry about that.

Of course, if the right offer comes, any player could be traded.

Lake is 30 before 2012 starts. And his body is completely ****ed.

I'd give up an early 2nd rounder at best.

Do Carlton really need a KPF? Is Luke Mitchell ready to go next year? Kreuzer will be back better than ever, trading in a KPF could actually hinder the development of these players.

And surely Hampson wont be able to fit in the side next year with Kruzer and Warnock alternating. Can we please just have him. I can't see him enjoying playing another year at the Bullants.
