The husbands brother's been spotted in the area near where Karen's phone was pinged a few times, he was also the one loudly insisting Karen had shot through overseas on a false passport. Covering for his brother maybe.

Always thought this claim made the brother in law look ridiculous because vic police would've surely looked at all CCTV footage at Melbourne Airport to find if Karen Ristekvski had indeed fled the country. Don't think the cops would waste their time on searches before being absolutely certain Karen Ristevski hadn't done a runner.

The brother was very assertive, almost beligerent. Trying too hard to sell the story I think and made it obvious his first reaction wasn't concern for his sister in law and what might have happened to her but pointing a grubby finger right at her.

Interesting titbit from the updated Fairfax article:
'About 6.45pm, a couple turned up at scene and told officers they had previously seen a man in the area with a shovel and made a joke to him about burying a body. After recounting the story to uniformed officers, the couple was taken away from the media contingent to behind the police cordon.'

If this person has an involvement with the dead body then it sounds like they were scared off because none of the media reports appear to indicate the body was buried in any way, just placed between the fallen tree trunks.

Hopefully they got a good look at the person and can identify them again.

Be great if this turns out to be Karen......not that she's dead, but so the family can give her a proper burial.
Talking about this over dinner, my wife recounted the stepsons story about having an affair with her.
Going to be interesting few weeks...

Don't think a body makes a massive difference, unless they find clues around the area that links the husband, he has done a good job so far, assuming he did it..
They already knew she was dead this just confirms it

his phone was pinged in the area when he did his mysterious drive where the car fixed itself ?

Sounds like his brother was involved helping him stash the body.

Sad news but at least the family have a body to farewell.

Husband must be sweating bullets.

interesting, the brother in law or husband?

As Missing Person Squad detectives collected hundreds of hours of footage, police theorised she had met with foul play.

It was revealed on Tuesday that a witness told police he saw a man with a shovel at the location where Mrs Ristevski’s body was found.

The witness allegedly joked “What did you do to the body?” to the man but was met with an expressionless face, the Herald Sun reports.

Local resident Ian Flannery told 9 News he “could not believe” the grisly find near a quiet cul-de-sac.
