Like everyone, I was ecstatic after the win, and think it's a good sign that we're moving forward and things are starting to come together. I sang the song down the pub after the siren, and celebrated with quite a few pints that night.

But let's be serious. It was one win, against a middle ranked team and some of us are talking as if we're certainties for the flag.

Enjoy it, we've waited all too long for this, and put up with a lot of crap, but remember, there is still a long way to go, and a lot that can go wrong.

You speak the truth telsor. I think we got our celebrations out throughout the weekend and mad Monday and now its time to think of our cubs just as we did before the win.

This year is all about finding out who can and can't play. Lets not even utter the words 'finals' or 'premiership' until we actually start to win consistantly.

But things are looking great so far, I have not felt this good about an era since 2001. And we are 1-9, things can only get better next year.

I agree with Telsor, we don't want to get too carried away because if we lose to St Kilda by 10 goals we'll be disappointed again. But, it was good to get win this year. So of course we can enjoy it for now.

But seriously though, I don't think anyone really thinks we will be making a run to the finals. This week we should be able to celebrate the rare win as much as we want. Nothing wrong with showing the rest of the comp that we are still passionate and willing to put up a fight.

I am being realistic. I told my mates at the start of the year that we would be lucky to win a game. But that's ok with me. With 14 new players on the list, what did people expect?

What I did expect is that slowly, slowly the team would start improving and galvanising. New faces, I was hoping, would start appearing and showing small signs that they were capable of leading us out of the wilderness. I was hoping to see more of the magic of Cotchin. I was hoping to see some of this legendary (for age) strength from Martin. I was hoping to see some class from Astbury. I was hoping to see a giant in Griffiths pluck one out the sky. I was hoping to witness Hardwick commitment to the contest (like 142 tackles a game).

I now have seen these things and I am content that we are FINALLY on the right track when it comes to building a team from the ground up. Yes, no more short cuts!

It might not be this year or even the next two when we will be REAL contenders, but it IS going to happen. And boys, when it happens, it will be the most satisfying feeling of all..........

So the lid is officially off! I am going to celebrate the rebirth of the Richmond Football Club. I just can't wait for the baby to grow into the biggest boy in town!

Next, it will be interesting to see which players will get delisted or even traded. I am wondering what will happen with Tuck - I can't believe how good he has been this year.

I am waiting for Morton and Connors to return.

That should silence the all the people who said you wouldnt win a game for the year - what a joke that was I knew you'd win one! I didnt think you did to bad against us after blowing the start you had a real crack & only just went down to the Hawks so its certainly not all doom & gloom. anyway - good luck for the rest of 2010 - Im sure its only onwards and upwards from here - great to hear your song also - best song in the comp (well second after ours )

We won and we won fair and square. After a few 50/50 games where we were unlucky to lose i'm super stoked and I want us to pump the Saints this week.

Putting a lid on it is for teams that are not good enough but think they are.

We know we're shit. No-one is going off the handle so no need to put a lid on anything.

Haha wore my Tiges hoodie to work today, although it's made several appearances this year anyway - but for once people weren't saying "I can't believe you're wearing that" and instead were shaking my hand and congratulating me...haha no worries Richmond I'll steal your thunder?!?!

Definitely not talking finals or anything like that, just trying to look at this weekend with 0 expectations. Who knows what is going to happen. It's funny how quickly things change. I remember in 08 we only lost to St Kilda by a kick on the siren, yet last year after keeping them goalless in the first q they smashed us by like 80. Don't care if we lose as long as we put in a solid effort - just hope the boys aren't too wrecked from the tough game over the weekend.
