what do you think my fellow tiger fans. Cogs, give him another shot, delist him or trade him?

Cogs will be up and running by the time trade week roles around, so his chances of making a strong comeback will be more known.

As for the topic question, KEEP HIM!

most are tradeable for the right offer. if we got a very good offer we'd be doing the wrong thing if it wasn't strongly considered. Otherwise, his potential value to us would be more than any club would be willing to trade for, one would think

Cogs is untradable now. Therefore we have no choice but to keep him or delist him. Thread closed.

p1ss off, you could trade him. teams know what hes capable of and if he regains full fitness is a gun midfielder. i reckon the tigs will keep him though.

Listen, "you can't trade someone cause there injured" is BS...

A player with 4 broken limbs and living in an iron lung IS tradeable,
if you can find the right team (buyer) who believes in him...

You only need a fruitcake like Sheeds to see something in someone,
(or the voices speaking in his head)
And a coach like Sheeds would pick him up.

The injury plays no part in it for a coach who wants to show faith
in an injured player from another club.
It may not work, but coaches will try anything for an edge.

This is modern football.....everyone is tradeable at any stage of their career.

:) WILL confess to being one of the blokes on this board to support trading Cogs late last year, if the deal was right ....which at the time, we were chasing Polak. If you get the opportunity to improve your list or fill a greater need, you are silly not to consider it and I thought the opportunity to gain a young key defender was too good to be jeopardised by keeping a hrad at it midfielder - albeit a good one - but one who could more readily be replaced. As it turns out, we didn't need to offload Cogs to gain Polak.
Having said that, Cogs is ours to stay now. Simply put, he has no value. The likes of West Coast, Fremantle, Collingwood, Hawthorn, Geelong, Carlton and Essendon have no use for a midfielder who has spent the greater part of three of the last four years sidelined with major injuries. Nor would a suburban club have any need for that either.
I am glad Cogs remained a Tiger, but any trade value the man once commanded has dissipated!
Hope I am wrong, but I have serious doubts over his ability to regain form if and when he gets back. This game of ours is getting quicker by the day...by the time Cogs returns in 2008, he has missed the better part of the last two years. Two years is an eternity in today's football.

:) I CAN see where you're coming from Deliberate, but put yourself in Wallace or Miller's shoes.
Were Cogs a Melbourne or Adelaide player, do you think they would seriously entertain the idea of drafting him given his recent injury record.
Not on your life!!!!

Richmond has been there and done that in the past.

I offer the names Gary Frangalas (ex Swans) and David Williams (ex Demons). Not sure abot the latter, but the former we paid big dollars at a time when we knew he had a serious knee problem. Well, those knees never got any better and we got 30 odd games of crap!!! It just wouldn't happen these days. Clubs are not that silly. Might have been able to do it in the days of te 52 player list or even 48. But with 38 players on the list and knowing what can happen injury-wise it wouldn't happen!

At times last season, th eBulldogs, Lions and even us were decimated by injuries and had fewer than 25 fit players available. No one would jeopardise that by adding another player to the list who is no certainty of rehabilitating themselves.
Clubs feel a sense of obligation to carry such players as Cogs, Darcy at the Bulldogs, Ramanauskas at Essendon, out of loyality, but others would not be as compassionate.

As we speak, Cogs has zero trade value!

How eloquent of you. Cogs has zero trade value for us. What do you suggest we would get for him? Clubs aren't dumb you know. A severe bout of OP, two knee recos...you do the math. No club in the land (not even Carlton) would give any more than a 4th round pick.
Your defence of our player is admirable, but we're stuck with him and he's stuck with us.

I wouldnt mind Eagles taking a chance. Rumors are he may want to return to WA anyway. Id probably givr up 2 2nd rounders for him which would be fair given the circumstances.

maybe we're a show with the roos.....might not know hes having another reco.

i'd hope WCE have a crack for sure. if it doesnt come off... oh well we got plenty of other good players. but if he came back with full fitness he would be added to our fab 7 (cuz, judd, kerr, stinger, braun, embers and fletch).

Yeah instead of sticking behind we'll trade him off after all the loyalty he showed us off field and the heart and passion he shows on the field. I would only trade him if he asked to be because he wants a fresh start.
