I really really worry about the long term deals we have done at high prices..........not good management. Someone is responsible for example Hamstring Hartlett getting a 5 year deal until 31!!!!
Long term contracts aren't the worry per se. Its not putting into them, out clauses for injuries and poor form and loading up match payments over base payments as you go further into the contract. Unfortunately the bloody AFLPA and the CBA with the AFL, has restricted what restrictions clubs can put into them and free agency means you have to compete with clubs who foolishly dont put in conditions.

If it was up to many people on here Jasper and no doubt others would have been given the arse years ago also. Short term memory loss is by no means limited to one individual.

KT the same. The hysteria displayed when he was hired was ridiculous, once again. Had people looked into him as a professional and a person rather then the old SANFL stooge aspect, perhaps some sense would have prevailed.
Great PR guy, loves talking the talk. I think we are lucky to have the Koch meister on the business/ commercial front

From the CEO: There comes a point in every season...

Dear Members and Supporters,

There comes a point in every season where all the things that you have been working on just count for a little bit more than usual. This Saturday’s clash with the Bulldogs seems like one of those moments.

With our noses just ahead of the ledger, having travelled away twice for two good wins, we return to Adelaide Oval to take on a legitimate top four side. Far from perfect, but driven to apply unrelenting pressure and a total commitment to team football, our momentum is building.

But make no mistake, we are in a scrap. The competition is as tight as it has ever been and I feel sure that this season will be decided by the barest of margins.

Which is why maximising any advantage we can is so crucial…

KT has a gift for writing. A nicely written piece that will hopefully convince a lot of undecided supporters to go. Ken in his press conference after the Collingwood win was urging supporters to front up on Saturday. The club's keen for a big turnout.

Turn the hot water off in the away team change room. :D

Not quiet a message of desperation by KT, but pointing out how critical this game is for the club. Win this and the season's possibilities open up. Lose it and the door is just about closed for the season re finals and going anywhere. Its a call to arms because I reckon a lot of off field stuff succeeding is depending on the on field stuff succeeding.

Preaching to the converted here, I reckon we'll get a decent Crowd. And again a nice reminder about AO attendance this year against the lowly St Kilda;
43,807 us
40,896 other mob

Wasn't there some furore a few year ago when someone in the media called Port fans rabid? Interesting KT chose to use that word in his letter!
I don't recall any furor over our fans being called rabid. Unlike the theatre goer supporters of a lot of AFL clubs many of our fans, myself included, are rabid.

"having or proceeding from an extreme or fanatical support of or belief in something"

You may be confusing it with us being called "feral".

Great to read KT's response to Cornes' crap. Sadly the Club will not take any formal action but will file it in the Cornes crap file. KT makes some good points re Cornes' actions in 1990. If he was so against the move to the AFL why did he take on the Crows coaching job and take most of the Bays players and support staff with him?

I too am pleased that KT has revealed the real reason the Bays and SANFL are suffering. Good one:rolleyes:

I haven't read the paper but that sounds like the transcript from his speech at the post game function in the Magarey Room. He said he thought he should address what Cornes said because it was wrong and said he wouldn't make a public statement about it because it didn't deserve one, but that he wanted to address us members and fans about it just this once.

That is correct the article makes reference to the after match address.

Ahh yes, you're right - I did get confused with the feral comment. Carry on...

KT sat next to me (well next to ppl he clearly knew, I was on the other side..) when Hinkley was speaking. Whole bunch of man love for that guy. Told him he was spot on with his comments

I wonder if an afl coaching career was ever beckoning for Cornes before that time? Would he have had an afl career if not for the events of 1990?

Welcome to BigFooty, KT.

Ah... sorry, got a bit confused. Of course Onward To Victory is not KT. It's all @RickingFish's bloody fault. Got me flying last night and stiffed me with the bill. That's okay because Rick luvs KT. Told me so.
